Changan is Back with a 5-Vehicle Line-Up

The people behind Hyundai in the Philippines is bringing in a new brand: Changan. The first-ever Changan distributorship in the entire ASEAN region, the newly formed Changan Motor Philippines, Inc. (CMPI) will be responsible for Changan’s passenger vehicle range, while Berjaya Auto Asia will now concentrate on Kaicene, Changan’s commercial vehicle brand.

The newest car brand in the country, known for its “V” logo and one of China’s “Big 4” automakers, is powered by an experienced management team and a dealership network led by industry veterans.

“Many have asked why we are launching a new brand in this challenging environment. The answer is simple--as an industry veteran of 20 years, I strongly believe Changan is a promising brand, a challenger brand with vehicles and services that will excite the Philippine market at this most unexpected time,” CMPI President and CEO Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo said.

“I am also a believer in offering Filipinos a wider range of product options, and Changan vehicles have that winning combination of intelligent features, trend-setting designs, extensive safety features, and outstanding engine performance. With its attractive price points, motorists no longer need to pay a premium to enjoy premium features. We guarantee that once you drive a Changan, it will change your mindset, change the status quo and definitely change your life,” Ms. Agudo added.

CMPI will start with a five-vehicle line-up with one passenger car, three SUVs, and one full electric vehicle.

The lone passenger car is the Changan Alsvin—a sub-compact sedan. It will be offered in three variants: an entry-level 1.4-liter M/T with 100 horsepower and 130 Nm, and two variants of the 1.5-liter DCT automatic with 107 horsepower and 145 Nm. Key features include leather seats, a sunroof, a touchscreen-based infotainment system, tire pressure monitoring system, blind spot and rear cameras.

Colors are: Glory Red, Deep Blue, Pearl Black, Silver Gray, and Snow White.

Moving up, there’s the CS35Plus compact SUV. This one is powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower and 230 Nm. The sole transmission is a 7-speed DCT automatic. Features include a passive entry with push-button start/stop, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, remote engine start, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment, blind spot indicators, and more.

Colors are: Red, Blue, Brown, Gray, and White.

For those who want something a bit sportier, there’s the CS75Plus with its 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with 178 horsepower and 265 Nm. This sporty compact SUV uses a 6-speed automatic. This one has a push-start system, a CN95 air filtration system, driver-selectable modes, cruise control, 12-inch infotainment touchscreen, 6 airbags, and more.

Colors are: Blue, Black, Gray, and White.

For those needing seven seats, there’s the CS95. This 7-seater mid-sized SUV is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine making 232 horsepower and 360 Nm. The gearbox is a 6-speed automatic. Features include a 12.3-inch high-definition touchscreen for its infotainment, 10-inch fully-digital gauge cluster, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree high-definition camera, and more.

Colors are: White w/ Back Roof, Gray, Black, and Brown.

Finally, there’s the Eado EV460—a fully-electric passenger car that is available on an indent order basis. This mid-sized passenger car features a range of up to 550 kilometers on a single charge as well as 6 airbags, stability control, and leather seats. The sole color is White.

All Changan vehicles will come with a 5-year / 150,000-kilometer warranty along with free PMS for one-year or 20,000 kilometers (whichever comes first), as well as a 60-minute PMS guarantee, 100 percent parts guarantee, emergency roadside assistance, and a 24/7 technical and parts chat bot called CAIA.
