This is How the Refreshed 2021 Camry May Look Like for the Philippine Market

Last July, Toyota unveiled a refreshed Camry for 2021 for the North American market. Now, they have revealed what it looks like for the rest of the world.

As a refresher, the Camry takes on a sportier appearance in North America, primarily because it’s viewed as a mainstream mid-sized sedan. For the rest of the world though, the Camry is seen as something more upscale. In fact, in Philippine parlance, it’s taken on the “executive sedan” moniker.

With that in mind, Toyota’s given the global Camry a much statelier face for 2021. The front-end has been refreshed with a new bumper and grille. A new exterior color, darkened rear lamp clusters, and new alloy wheels—in 17 or 18-inch sizes—complete the changes.

Inside, the Camry is emphasizing ease of use by reversing on the trend towards touchscreens with more physical buttons and dials. Nonetheless, the centerpiece is a new, floating 9-inch center-mounted infotainment screen with built-in Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

For global markets, Toyota is offering the Camry in both black or beige interior trim both featuring a new “herringbone” perforation pattern for better ventilation. Moreover, there are two new interior accents—Black Engineered Wood or Titanium Line Pattern.

Mechanically, the Camry differs little from before. In Europe, the sole powertrain is a 2.5-liter gasoline-hybrid engine offering a combined total of 218 horsepower.

The North American model also incorporates better sound insulation material. Toyota hasn’t said if these changes were incorporated into the global model as well.

When Toyota Motor Philippines brings in the refreshed Camry locally (expect a debut sometime in 2021), expect it to also gain the 2.5-liter Dynamic Force engine first introduced in the current RAV4 (it currently uses a carryover powertrain from the previous Camry). Who knows, it might even gain a hybrid variant as well.
