Toyota Reports 45 Percent Growth In Electrified Vehicle Sales So Far In 2025

Toyota Motor Philippines reports a 45 percent year-on-year growth when it comes to their electrified vehicle sales. Sales of Toyota and Lexus brands combined showed a total of 16,986 “xEV” sold as of end November.

The carmaker’s electrified vehicle sales are part of a broader adoption of electrified vehicles in the Philippines. According to the Department of Energy (DOE), xEV sales—hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and BEVs—have reported to reach 41,000 units through September, representing a 356 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024. Electrified vehicle sales are projected to reach 50,000 units—more than double 2024’s figures.

For Toyota, key to their leadership in the electrified vehicle segment is down to their wide range of offerings. With the introduction of the Ativ as Toyota’s most affordable electrified vehicle, it reinforces their position as having the broadest range of hybrid electric vehicles in the country with no less than eight nameplates now offering an electrified option:
  • Toyota Alphard
  • Toyota Ativ
  • Toyota Camry
  • Toyota Corolla Altis
  • Toyota Corolla Cross
  • Toyota RAV4
  • Toyota Yaris Cross
  • Toyota Zenix
As for customers who are ready with capacity to access charging infrastructure, TMP has introduced its very first battery electric vehicle, the bZ4X. Toyota will be offering it, including aftersales support which includes perks such as complimentary charging, at the following Toyota BEV dealerships:
  • Toyota Alabang
  • Toyota Batangas City (EV Charger)
  • Toyota Commonwealth
  • Toyota Global City
  • Toyota La Union (EV Charger)
  • Toyota Mabolo Cebu
  • Toyota Makati
  • Toyota Mandaue Cebu
  • Toyota Manila Bay
  • Toyota North EDSA
  • Toyota Pasig
  • Toyota Quezon Avenue
  • Toyota San Fernando
  • Toyota Sta Rosa
The expansion of Toyota’s HEV and BEV offerings signals the company’s push to broaden electrification options in line with the company’s ‘Beyond Zero’ sustainability vision. Toyota’s multi-pathway strategy—built on the principle that a mix of powertrain technologies rather than one can address the diverse mobility needs of Filipinos—aims to deliver solutions suited to the country’s road conditions, infrastructure readiness, and customer usage patterns.

TMP’s local approach align with Toyota Motor Asia’s regional targets, where the regional headquarters detailed its target of achieving 30 percent xEV share of new vehicle sales in Southeast Asia by 2030 (“30 by 30”), and introduce 10 new xEV models in the region in the next three years.

This broader strategy also reflects the growing need to address the environmental impact of the country’s transport sector. As the sector remains a major contributor to greenhouse gases, wider adoption of electrified vehicles is seen as an important step toward reducing overall emissions and managing the pressures associated with growing mobility demand.

“Toyota Motor Philippines fully supports the Philippine government’s carbon reduction goals, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 75 percent by 2030,” said Masando Hashimoto, President of TMP.

“Today, Philippine customers can choose from four vehicle types—gasoline, diesel, hybrid electric, and battery electric—to be their mobility partner, according to their lifestyle and location.”
