Honda e:HEVs Prove Fuel Efficiency At 2025 DOE Fuel Eco Run

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has announced official results from the Department of Energy (DOE) Fuel Eco-Run 2025 conducted last September.

The Eco-Run took place on the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX), with a total distance covering around 155 kilometers. HCPI, who fielded in two e:HEV hybrid models, exceeded their previously held records from the UNR-101 Test Results.
  • Honda Civic RS e:HEV
    DOE Fuel-Eco Run: 30.12 km/L
  • UNR-101 Fuel Efficiency Standard: 24.2 km/L
  • Honda HR-V RS e:HEV
    DOE Fuel-Eco Run: 28.08 km/L
    UNR-101 Fuel Efficiency Standard: 23.8 km/L
Both models are equipped with Honda’s unique e:HEV full hybrid system, which combines Honda’s sporty DNA, redefined to provide excellent fuel efficiency and practicality for a cleaner, greener future. This is in line with the company’s 2050 goal of achieving carbon neutrality across all its products.

  1. It would be nice if the parameters for this Eco run were also mentioned.

  2. I'd rather hear from actual owners what their real-world experience is like than corporate drum-beating exercises like this.

  3. How efficient are hybrids, really, considering everything from battery replacement, to fuel, to maintenance, and everything?

  4. DOE ecoruns are not realistic. Its not real world driving scenario. Its more of instrumented tests. Give or take 50% less in real world driving condition..

  5. Hybrid system of Honda is miles better than Toyota.
Too bad HCPI priced their Honda hybrid vehicles ludicrously.

    1. How do you say so that Honda's hybrid system is better than Toyota's?
