Firefighters Are Struggling To Douse Fire On Ship Carrying Porsche, Audi EVs
In what could be a reality in the era of electric cars, firefighters are struggling to put out a fire that broke out on Wednesday on a vessel carrying thousands of luxury cars, which is adrift off the coast of Portugal’s Azores islands, a port official said, adding it was unclear when they would succeed.

The Porsche Taycan Broke A Guinness World Record For Coast-To-Coast Charging
Porsche has managed to break a Guinness World Record for the shortest charging time to travel 4,561.6 kilometers (2,834.5 miles)—a US coast-to-coast drive that crosses from Los Angeles, California to New York City. A 2021 Taycan EV did it with just a cumulative charge time of 2 hours, 26 minutes, and 48 seconds. It broke the benchmark which as 7 hours, 10 minutes, and 1 second.

Porsche Delivered More Than 300,000 Vehicles In 2021
Porsche had the strongest year in its history after they delivered 301,915 vehicles to customers worldwide in 2021. This was an increase of 11 percent compared to 2020. Every single global sales region contributed, with the largest increases recorded on the American continent. China, meanwhile, continues to be the largest single market for Porsche.

Volkswagen Transfers Ownership Of Bugatti Brand
After months of speculation, it’s confirmed: Volkswagen has just unloaded Bugatti. The company and its shares will now be transferred to a new joint-venture co-owned by Porsche and Rimac Automobili. Known as Bugatti Rimac, the new joint-venture will be owned 55 percent by Rimac and 45 percent by Porsche.

Porsche Is Selling A Lot of Taycan EVs Right Now
Porsche’s worldwide deliveries in the first three months of the year increased by 36 percent compared to the first quarter of 2020, or 71,986 sports cars, SUVs, and sedans sold this year against 53,125 vehicles delivered during the same period last year. Equally impressive is that the Taycan—Porsche’s first all-electric model which in 2020 saw its first full year in the market—nearly equaled the sales performance of Porsche’s iconic 911 sports car.

Porsche 3D Prints Pistons for 911 GT2 RS
3D printing technology is already used at Porsche in prototype construction, manufacturing spare parts for classic sports cars as well as in other areas. In cooperation with its partners Mahle and Trumpf, the sports car manufacturer is now establishing a new milestone in the use of additive manufacturing processes for highly-stressed drive components—for the first time, the pistons for the high-performance engine of the 911 flagship model, the GT2 RS, are now also being produced with a 3D printer.
