Grand Prix Season Singapore Returns with More in 2013

Singapore has become a center stage for entertainment, and for those seeking just that, September is sure to bring excitement for everyone. From 13 September to 23 September 2013, Grand Prix Season Singapore (GPSS) will kickstart the Singapore race fever by playing host to yet another exciting selection of lifestyle and entertainment activities for all to enjoy.

As in past years, there is something for everyone happening at all times of the day - from multi-brand pop-up Hidden Finds by Public Garden (20-22 September) to exciting dining concepts under the Bacchanalia Brunch Series (13-23 September) to comedy acts such as Comedy Club Asia (11-15 September) and of course, the 2013 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX (20-22 September), which is still the only night race in the global FORMULA 1 circuit and racing fans can expect three full days of adrenaline-pumping action as some of the biggest names in FORMULA 1 racing make their way through downtown Singapore.

Entertainment takes centre stage once again with stellar in-circuit headliners like BIGBANG (20 September), THE KILLERS (21 September) and RIHANNA (22 September) in addition to legendary singer TOM JONES, esteemed singer-songwriter and philanthropist BOB GELDOF, soul singer songwriter LAURA MVULA and English illusionist DYNAMO, amongst various stunning productions and electrifying parades.
With just one race ticket, you can catch these riveting performances and over 10 hours of race action at the 2013 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix. Ticket starts from as low as Php 2,040. For the first time ever, a closing concert featuring JUSTIN BIEBER and OWL CITY will also be showcased. Entry to the closing concert on Monday, 23 September, is separately ticketed at Php 2,940 for 2013 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix ticketholders or at Php 4,440 for non-ticket holders.

“Philippines today are amongst our top six overseas visitors attending GPSS. All year round, Singapore excites entertainment seekers with a plethora of world-class musicals, concerts and shows but during the GPSS, the atmosphere is rip-roaring electric and this is what drives hundreds of Filipinos to the city state during GPSS,” said Ms Sherina Chan, Singapore Tourism Board Area Director for the Philippines and Brunei.

“We are pulling out all stops to give both visitors and locals’ an experience with a difference. Compared to last year, the number of participating establishments has grown significantly to over 50. With many partners coming on board with new or enhanced offerings, anyone will be spoilt for choice during this period. GPSS is like a huge carnival fiesta and we invite Filipinos to experience it for themselves,” Ms Chan added.

Travelers can make pit stops at Singapore’s major city precincts to pump up the party vibe with high energy entertainment at Marina Bay, shopping extravaganzas with Rev Up @ Orchard and buzzing nightlife along the Singapore River. The GPSS celebration also continues at the most happening nightspots in Singapore. With establishments such as Zouk and Amber Lounge hosting spectacular parties, entertainment seekers will surely be up partying until the wee hours of the morning.

“Singapore really goes full-throttle with a vibrant, action-packed season of exciting experiences with world-class entertainment, nightlife, dining, shopping and more with the GPSS. For neighboring countries like the Philippines, it means world-class entertainment becomes more accessible. The whole city comes alive and your family and friends will have more than enough reason to visit Singapore during this period,” said Ms Chan.

There will be a GPSS 2013 Guide and marketing collaterals produced to help locals and visitors alike navigate the plethora of experiences on offer. For more information on Singapore’s most anticipated GPSS experiences, visit www.yoursingapore.com/gpss.
