Hyundai is diversifying its N Line trim with the introduction of this: the 2021 Tucson N Line. While it falls short of the full N treatment like the upcoming Kona N, it builds on the all-new Tucson’s futuristic appearance by dialing up the sportiness to eleven.
Outside, the Tucson N Line gets black bezel frames in the headlamps, a unique bumper with larger air intakes, body-matched wheel arches, black side mirrors, and geometrically-designed 19-inch wheels. Inside, it gets sporty bucket seats covered in leather and suede (with red stitching for good measure), a unique steering wheel, black headliner, and metal pedals.
Features include a 10.25-inch open cluster instrumentation and a 10.25-inch AVN touchscreen. It also has what Hyundai calls Multi-Air Mode technology which uses both direct and indirect air vents to create a more pleasant environment thanks to a gentler airflow.
As for running gear, Hyundai engineers pretty much left the Tucson N Line alone. That said, like the regular Tucson, it comes with an Electronically Controlled Suspension which provides adaptive damping technology reducing roll, pitch, and vertical motion to enhance the ride and handling.
It’s also available in a variety of powertrains putting out anywhere between 150 horsepower for the base 1.6-liter T-GDI with a 48V mild hybrid system to 265 horsepower for the 1.6-liter T-GDI plug-in hybrid.
Hyundai will start the sale of the Tucson N Line in Europe by the middle of the year. The Philippine market is confirmed to get the all-new Tucson, but the exact specifications / variants haven’t been announced yet by its exclusive distributor, Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc.
