Hyundai PH to Launch 4 New Models in 2021

Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. has confirmed that it will be bringing in four all-new models in 2021. Previewed as a shadowy silhouette at MIAS Wired, these are the all-new Tucson and Starex, as well as the facelifted Santa Fe and Kona.

The Tucson embraces a brand-new design philosophy that imbues it with a very strong tech appearance. This is seen through the innovative half-mirror type DRLs that merge seamlessly with the grille, only revealed when illuminated. Inside, the Tucson provides feeling of openness and serenity. The broad ridge of the dashboard blends consistently with the doors, wrapping around front occupants.

Meanwhile, the Kona gets a sleeker look with its stretched hood terminating to a larger and wider grille. The effect is further enhanced by thinner LED DRLs. Inside, the 2021 Kona features a new console area that is disconnected from the instrument panel with an electric parking brake replacing the current model’s mechanical setup.

Next up, the Santa Fe mid-sized SUV moves to an all-new platform for improved performance, efficiency, and safety. Marking the 20th anniversary of the nameplate, the 2021 Santa Fe is much more striking with its wide grille now embracing the main headlights. Inside, it gets a dashboard swathed in soft-touch materials. It also gets a new lower dashboard design, a re-designed center console, full digital gauges, and a new 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen.

Finally, the all-new Starex is also arriving next year. While the Starex has yet to mark its global debut, the all-new van is expected to gain a larger grille that spans almost the entire front-end. It will also likely feature a split headlamp set-up also seen in the Tucson and Santa Fe.

Aside from the single teaser photo, HARI has yet to reveal details surrounding these four models. That said, after a relatively quiet 2020, the announcement of these four models could start the spark anew for the leading Korean carmaker in the Philippines.
