Yasuhisa Masuda Is Nissan Philippines' New President

Nissan announced the appointment of Yasuhisa Masuda as the President of Nissan Philippines, effective April 1, 2024. He will report to Toshihiro Fujiki, also newly appointed President, Nissan ASEAN and Thailand, and will be based in Manila.

Fujiki replaces Isao Sekiguchi as well, who was promoted to Corporate Vice President (CVP), Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., and managing director of Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFN).

Masuda will be leading Nissan Philippines’ new chapter, ensuring continued success brought about by his predecessor, Juan Manuel Hoyos.

Under the leadership of Juan Manuel Hoyos, Nissan Philippines was able to launch multiple products across different segments with the Kicks e-Power, Livina, GT-R, Nissan Z, and the Almera with NissanConnect Services. These launches expanded the footprint of Nissan in the country, making Nissan achieve a 37 percent growth by end of Fiscal Year 2023. This is more than double the industry’s average growth rate.

Masuda joined Nissan in 2011 and has since held various leadership positions in Market Intelligence, Brand and Media Strategy. He previously held the position of Chief Marketing Officer for Japan Product Marketing and Brand and Media Strategy. Prior to joining Nissan, he also worked in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Industry. His experience in data analytics and consumer insights will help Nissan Philippines navigate the ever-changing consumer landscape in the country.

Juan Manuel Hoyos, Nissan Philippines’ outgoing President will continue pursuing his career as President of Nissan Importers Business Unit (NIBU) in the Americas, based in Mexico.

Masuda’s official inauguration will be made after his qualification under Philippine Laws, and the confirmation and election by NPI’s Board of Directors.
