Here Are The Full Specs Of The 2025 Toyota Tamaraw. Officially Launching On December 6

Toyota Motor Philippines is gearing up for the official launch of its much-awaited next-generation Tamaraw. The commercial vehicle will roll off the Santa Rosa, Laguna assembly plant on November 28. The formal market launch is slated for December 6.

As Toyota dealerships nationwide are accepting reservations for the next-generation Tamaraw, Toyota has revealed the full specs and features. No exact pricing has been revealed yet, but the range is expected to start at around P 700,000 and top off at around P 1.1-million.

In the Philippines, the Tamaraw will be made available in two wheelbase lengths and two engines—one diesel and one gasoline.

The short wheelbase version is exclusively available with a gas engine. The 2.0-liter 1TR-RE makes 139 horsepower and 183 Nm of torque. The sole gearbox is a 5-speed manual.

Meanwhile, the long wheelbase versions will get the 2GD-FTV that’s connected to either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic. It makes 150 horsepower, but the torque varies depending on the transmission. On the three-pedal variant, it makes 343 Nm, while in the two-pedal variant, it makes 400 Nm.

Regardless of powertrain (or wheelbase), the next-generation Tamaraw is underpinned by the IMV 0 (IMV Zero platform)—something it shares with the current-generation Hilux, Innova, and Fortuner.

The Tamaraw gets a styling which Toyota calls “Retro Polygon.” It’s a function over form design that’s built to be easily repairable, while also providing unparalleled front visibility.

The short wheelbase version measures 2,750 mm between the front and rear wheels, with a bed length of 2,312 mm. Payload ranges from 830 kilograms to 1,080 kilograms for the short wheelbase variant. Meanwhile, the long wheelbase grows to 3,085 mm with a bed length of 2,647 mm. Payload is rated from 885 kilograms to 1,125 kilograms. In both cases, the bed width is an impressive 1,711 mm. Its turning radius is a compact 4.9 to 5.4 meters.

Features for the next-generation Tamaraw include LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels with 215/65R16 tires, power adjustable sideview mirrors, easy-to-clean PVC seating material, manual air conditioning, and a two-speaker sound system connected to a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment screen. As for safety, only the High-Spec LWB Diesel comes with dual SRS airbags as well as ABS with EBD (ventilated discs at the front and drums at the back).

Toyota Motor Philippines is showing the following body options: Dropside, Aluminum Van, and FX (Utility Van). Other body options are available as official Conversion & Accessories or through Toyota Mobility Solutions such as Patrol Van, Ambulance, Refrigerated Van, School Van, Mobile Store, and even Fire Truck.

    1. Nope. Not stopping some tuners who've figured out a way to install or shoehorn the Hilux's 4WD system in there.

  2. possible kaya na ma cannibalize yung market ng Liteace? Even if this is more expensive

Because to be honest, I've not seen much Liteace's on the roads. There are some but not as much as I would have expected

    1. Hindi siguro kasi different demographics eh. Liteace competes with the Suzuki Carry na sobrang etablished na, saka yung Tata Ace ba yun? Pang light businesses siya like tubigan or flower shops, kaya lang I get your point kasi kung balak mong lumaki tapos diesel gusto mo, mag-L300 na lang sila.

    2. TMPC already reduced the lineup of Liteace in the Philippine market as its still matched by Suzuki Super Carry in terms of sales numbers

  3. This is not the usual mpv for family but utility track for construction.

  4. It's a way for Toyota to extend the IMV platform in developing countries. Fully depreciated development cost so the vehicle can be priced lower. Later this model will have a diesel variant.

    1. There's a diesel powered engine variant of it already 🤣
IMV 0 platform is still based on the decade old IMV platform of Innova,Hilux and Fortuner with less safer body shell and lower quality ladder frame chassis to save costs.

  5. Hopefully they will come up a wagon version next year or crew cab perhaps.

  7. Hopefully there's a passenger version (4-door). My parents had one before, used for different things personal and business, and this will be a nostalgic purchase for them.
