Omoda & Jaecoo demonstrated the long-distance capability and fuel efficiency of its Super Hybrid System (SHS) following the successful completion of the Omoda Super Hybrid Marathon held in Wuhu, China last October 21 to 22.
The endurance test saw the Omoda 5 Next SHS-H achieve a tested combined driving range of 1,015 kilometers and fuel consumption of 22.22 km/L, underscoring the ability of its hybrid technology to combine efficiency with responsive driving performance.
Covering approximately 600 kilometers of varied road conditions, the marathon evaluated the Omoda 5 Next SHS-H alongside the Omoda 4 SHS-H and Omoda 7 SHS-H, putting the vehicles through congested city streets, high-speed expressways, and winding mountain roads.
Beginning in Wuhu, the marathon first tested the vehicles in stop-and-go city traffic, where frequent acceleration, braking, and changing speeds placed varying demands on the Omoda 5 Next’s 1.5-liter dedicated turbo hybrid engine.

Meanwhile, on the Hangzhou–Changsha Expressway, the focus shifted to sustained highway performance and long-distance cruising.
The final stretch introduced winding mountain roads, where steep inclines and successive corners tested the vehicle’s agility and power delivery. Its two driving modes—Sport and Eco as well as Level 2 ADAS provided worry-free driver support.
The marathon highlights Omoda & Jaecoo’s broader investment in new energy mobility, with its expanding portfolio encompassing hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and battery electric vehicles (BEVs).
This commitment is reflected in the brand’s global expansion. During the 2026 International User Summit, Omoda & Jaecoo reported cumulative worldwide sales exceeding 1.4 million vehicles, with operations spanning 79 markets and more than 1,700 showrooms. New energy vehicles also accounted for a reported 81 percent of total sales, reinforcing electrification’s growing importance to the company’s business.
