Mazda Produces Five Millionth Mazda3

Twelve years and ten months since its debut, the Mazda3 has reached a milestone: the production of five million units. Achieving this feat at the end of April 2016, it’s only the second car from the Hiroshima-based car company to reach this milestone. The first one is, aptly, the Mazda3’s predecessor, the Familia.

The Mazda3 is a core product for Mazda, contributing to around 30 percent of its annual sales worldwide. Since the first generation model introduced in 2003, it’s been recognized for its dynamic design and enjoyable driving performance. The current-generation Mazda3, launched in 2013, realizes Sustainable Zoom-Zoom by employing Mazda’s full suite of Skyactiv Technology. Its stand out design is the product of the KODO – Soul of Motion theme.

Currently, the Mazda3 is produced not only at Mazda’s Hofu Plant, but also in China, Thailand, and Mexico. It’s also assembled in Malaysia and Vietnam.

In the Philippines, the Made-in-Japan Mazda3 has been a strong seller for Mazda Philippines as well. It’s currently their best-selling vehicle and has garnered a strong and loyal following. It’s currently the best-selling premium compact car in the country.

  1. An auto giant will reach greater heights with continuous support from its users. In order to achieve that level of successful customer base, constant improvements need to be released on regular intervals to remain as the best. That is what has been done all along by Mazda that has enabled them to accomplish their five millionth production to this date.
