The Toyota RAV4 isn’t the only electrified SUV that Toyota Motor Philippines is launching this March 17. For those who’re ready to go fully electric, the Urban Cruiser EV joins the bZ4X as the brand’s second battery electric vehicle.
Priced at P 2,135,000, the Urban Cruiser EV is the bottom bun of Toyota’s Double Cheeseburger 2026 electrified SUV offering with the two RAV4 variants—the Adventure (P 2,183,000) and the Limited (P 2,399,000) serving as the meat and the bZ4X being the top bun (P 2,699,000).
Confirmed specs of the solitary Urban Cruiser EV variant include its dimensions: overall length of 4,285 mm, an overall width of 1,800 mm, and an overall height of 1,635 mm. This puts it roughly at around the same size as the Yaris Cross HEV (P 1,690,000).
The Urban Cruiser comes in five colors: Splendid Silver, Grandeur Gray, Artic White, Land Breeze Green, and Celestial Blue.
Powering the Urban Cruiser EV is a front-mounted synchronous electric motor delivering 174 horsepower (128 kW) and 193 Nm of torque. The eAxle design here incorporates the electric motor, inverter, and reduction gears in a single space-saving unit. 0 to 100 km/h is done in 8.7 seconds, while top speed is set at 150 km/h.
The 61.1 kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) offers a 426-kilometer WLTP range (475 kilometers based on DOE standards or 67.3 km/Lge observed). A thermal management system helps ensure optimum battery temperature is maintained, including in very cold and hot conditions. While LFPs are less energy dense than lithium-ion batteries constructed with a NCM (Nickel Cobalt Manganese) chemistry, it’s more robust when it comes to high charge/discharge cycles. Charging is done via CCS Type 2 standards.
Officially, the Urban Cruiser EV is sourced from Japan (its VIN is also reflective of that with a “J” starting letter), but it is sourced from Gujarat, India where it’s assembled alongside its mechanical twin, the Suzuki eVitara.
Styling-wise, the Urban Cruiser EV looks pretty much like a baby bZ4X in that it carries Toyota’s trademark “Hammerhead” look. It also features aero-optimized bumpers, 18-inch alloy wheels with MRF 225/55R18 tires with aero covers and LED headlights.
The low, horizontal instrument panel design and high seating position affords the driver excellent visibility, while the feature set includes two-tone black/brown colorway, a powered driver’s seat, leather/fabric combo seats, a 10.1-inch center touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, and even a 9-speaker JBL sound system.
Flexibility is the name of the game with a nifty rear seat sliding system that also folds down in a 40-20-40 split growing the available cargo space from 244 liters to 310 liters (566 liters with the rear seats folded).
The Urban Cruiser EV also comes with a complete safety suite including ADAS. This gives it adaptive cruise control, front collision warning with automatic braking (with pedestrian and cyclist detection), blind spot indicators, and rear cross traffic alert with automatic braking. This is on top of 7 SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.
To make ownership hassle-free, Toyota is also bundling the Urban Cruiser EV with a free wall box charger (with installation) as well as a free portable charger. It is now available for reservations at all Toyota BEV dealerships nationwide.

DeleteWhy like that? Like with the Honda Civic Type R GK8 I know it's built in UK but imported from Japan. So it's shipped from UK to Japan then Japan to Philippines. But it carried a VIN starting WITH "SHH". What's with the case of Urban Cruiser?
