After what seemed like the longest preview to launch cycles in Honda’s history, the all-new Prelude is finally being released to customers starting today.
You can check out the full specs here, read our first impressions of the sports coupe here, or if you prefer, to watch it, click here. The important bit is that Honda’s finally signed and sealed on the price. And despite all the negativity surrounding its price tag, they maintained it at P 3,498,000. Get this: that price is just for the four of five colors available on order: Rallye Red, Racing Blue Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Crystal Black Pearl. If you want to be one of the first to receive the all-new Prelude, the initial stocks are all in Moonlit White Pearl and guess what, it carries a P 30,000 premium (P 3,548,000).
Now, if there’s one good thing to come from this is that the Prelude becomes the first Honda model to receive a lengthier warranty package. From a standard 3-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty (hard to believe that they, along with Mazda stuck to this up to now), the Prelude gets a 5-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty. Meanwhile, the high-voltage battery gets an 8-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty.
Performance-wise, the Prelude shares the Civic RS e:HEV’s 2.0-liter hybrid powertrain, but gets handling hardware derived from the Civic Type R. This includes 19-inch wheels, Brembo front brakes, and the Civic Type R’s wide track suspension and adaptive damper setup.
Unique to the Prelude is Honda’s S+ Shift system that simulates gear shifts using software and tuning of the internal combustion engine. It also comes with Active Sound Control that augments engine sounds by pumping them into the cabin.
Other key features of the Prelude also include Honda Connect in-car telematics and having Google built into the infotainment system.
The Prelude goes on tour at the following Honda dealerships:
- Honda Cars Pangasinan – April 17, 2026
- Honda Cars Tarlac – April 17, 2026
- Honda Cars Pasig – April 18, 2026

Why did Honda Ph price it so high? Don't they want to sell? It should be priced somewhere in the ballpark similar to the CR-Z, around P1.5-P2.0M. It carries almost technology. It's also a hybrid meaning that electrified cars should be cheaper but Honda Ph is actually doing the exact opposite. Not sure if Honda Ph knows what it's doing. But hoping to see the Prelude on the road soon...
ReplyDeletethey are giving a longer warranty in exchange for outrageous pricing!!!
ReplyDeleteTama. Wala siguro bumibili...
Deletethey are giving a longer warranty because they know nobody is going to use and abuse their prelude.
DeleteI wonder if senior citizens din yung likely bibili nyan dito like sa Japan.
Deletesana lahat ng models 5 years na din sa warranty. That's pretty much the standard now
ReplyDeleteEto yung marketing style na:
Delete"It's the best ever!*"
*compared to our previous offerings*
Its not the warranty standard for Japanese cars just yet. Korean cars were the first to go non-standard 3yr&100K km. Now they have to play catch up in order not to be outshine in this area.
