Summer Heats Up as FlatOut Race Series Resumes Track Battle at BRC

The Petron FlatOut Race Series (Petron FORS) welcomed the extreme summer heat by going racing at Round 3 of the 2018 season. Like the sizzling temperature, the on-track battles reached a boiling point as rivals faced off last May 19 at the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC).

Review: 2016 Honda Civic RS Turbo

There’s a lot at stake with the all-new Honda Civic. With the hype saying that it’s “reborn”; this is the clearest indicator whether or not Honda, as a company, is heading in the right direction. Though Honda has expanded their line-up of late, the Civic remains their barometer. It’s their Big Mac, their Frappuccino, their “TM” next to the company name. Will the Civic do Soichiro Honda proud or will it have him turning in his grave?

2019 Kia Forte GT vs 2019 Honda Civic RS Turbo

There is no greater cynic than a Honda Civic fanboy. Whether that has to do with the cult following of the 1990s Civic SiR, or because they happen to be better keyboard warriors is a debate best left for another day, but the fact of the matter is: they’ll defend their beloved compact, maybe to the death.

The 2022 Honda Civic Is Loaded With Tech, Connectivity

When Honda unveiled the all-new 2022 Civic, they detailed a waft of new available features which look great on the PR, but would normally be exclusive or available only on the top-of-the-line trim. However, now that Honda’s 11th generation compact sedan goes on sale in its first global market, the U.S., they’ve finally broken down what’s standard and what’s trim-specific.

First Drive: Honda Civic Type R

There are two schools of thought surrounding the Civic Type R. On one hand, there are those who believe it’s the pinnacle of Honda’s engineering achievement—a technical tour-de-force built with the very best that carmaker could offer. On the other, there are the skeptics who think it can’t be better than an all-wheel drive sports sedan with a bright blue paint job. Heading into this track experience, I belonged squarely to the latter. But an afternoon at the Clark International Speedway was enough to sway my convictions—the hype is most definitely real.

Review: 2022 Honda Civic V Turbo Honda SENSING

The Civic is one vehicle Honda can’t get wrong. While some generations are better than others, they’ve always managed to push the compact car envelope in one way or another. That trend continues in the 2022 model. Throughout its history, it has generally followed a pattern of revolutionary redesign followed by more cautious evolution. As the all-new, eleventh-generation model, the 2022 Civic falls into the evolution category. But while the basic ingredients are familiar, the right amount of Honda’s secret sauce has been poured in to make it not just the best compact car on offer today, but one of the best new cars you can buy full stop.

23 Teams Conquer Weather and Attrition in Petron Philippine Endurance Challenge

The Petron x Philippine Endurance Challenge (Petron PEC) is a battle of attrition, racing non-stop to see who can go the farthest around the clock. But the 2018 edition of the 4 Oras ng Pilipinas had several new elements that added to the difficulty of the event. Not only did the mixed 23-car grid had to brave non-stop rain, but the merger of the Kalayaan Cup meant that several teams had to outlast the full 12 hours.

All-New 2022 Honda Civic Debuts In ASEAN Exclusively With Turbo Power

Just four months after its worldwide debut in the U.S. (and a rather early teaser from Singapore), ASEAN becomes the second region in the world to get the all-new 2022 Honda Civic. More or less, it sticks to the same script as its North American counterpart but with small enhancements to make it more suitable for Southeast Asian tastes.

First Drive: 2023 Honda Civic Type R

I made a mistake as I was doing my third lap around the Clark International Speedway. For the first two, I concentrated on following the proper racing line (indicated by a series of cones) and minding my shift points. This time, however, as I passed the 150-meter brake marker board at the start-finish straight, I glanced down at my speedometer: 160 km/h. Holy crap. My balls were literally in my throat, as I scrubbed off some off that speed into turn one. With just a nudge of the steering wheel (no sawing necessary), the Honda Civic Type R swung in without drama; not a hint of tire screech nor hesitation. This, I thought, is what real stuff is made of.

2020 Toyota Corolla Altis vs Mazda3 vs Honda Civic vs Subaru Impreza vs MG 6

Forget crossovers, SUVs, and pickups for a minute—there’s a compact car war brewing resulting in a wider, more competitive range of choices. Starting with the arrival of the refreshed Civic early this year, the battlefield is now joined by two other compact car stalwarts: the 2020 Mazda3 and 2020 Toyota Corolla Altis. All these tables are high-res, so feel free to download them (please, no cropping of the watermark though...we know who does this).

Revealed for the North American market, it’s also been confirmed that the Thailand plant will also be producing the five-door version as well.

The 2022 Honda Civic Hides A Secret In Its Trunk

We can’t wait to get our hands on the all-new Honda Civic. And with a drive scheduled sometime in 2022 (blame COVID-19), we’ll have to wait at least two months before we get enough seat time even for a first impression (again, driving around the block doesn’t count in my book).

How Much Are You Willing to Pay for a Honda Civic Type-R?

You likely read the news before you slept or just after you woke up; and I’m confirming it: the Honda Civic Type-R will be shown at the Manila International Auto Show at the end of the month. I swear, this is no joke. Just a few weeks after its global debut, a production-ready (likely part of a small batch of production prototypes touring around the globe specifically for motor shows) version of the hottest Civic will be the main attraction at Honda’s stand.

First Drive: 2016 Honda Civic RS Turbo

It’s fair to say that the Civic made Honda. Since the nameplate’s introduction in 1972, it has become renowned the world over for its class-leading dynamics and fuel efficiency. In the decades that followed, it revolutionized “the car for all people” and has thus embodied Honda’s challenging spirit. The 2000s though have been largely unfavorable to the Civic with duds such as the 2000-2005 ES (7th generation) and the 2011-2016 FB (9th generation). Though people still bought them, it raised Honda’s vulnerability in the compact car segment. Today, there’s this: the all-new, tenth-generation Honda Civic. Is this, finally, the Civic re-born?
