Honda Supports Fuel Efficiency and Conservation in Driving for All PUVs

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) under its corporate social responsibility education and safety advocacies - the 1’M Blue Eco-Safe Driving Campaign, recently tied-up with the Department of Energy and the University of the Philippines National Engineering Center (UP NEC) in conducting seminars on fuel efficiency for road transport in 10 key cities in the Philippines from January to May 2013.

The seminar shares the Government’s energy efficiency program, the rationale of eco-safe driving, then moves on with practical tips on driving practices that save fuel and proper vehicle maintenance. There are 20 half-day sessions set for public utility drivers and operators from 5 cities in Luzon (Laoag, Legaspi, Baguio, Pampanga and Metro Manila); 3 in Visayas (Cebu, Iloilo and Tacloban); and 2 in Mindanao (Davao and Cagayan de Oro.)

Guided by the Honda Philosophy in our resolve to becoming a company that society wants to exist, Honda pursues corporate activities that create and expand value as we uphold our commitment to leave “Blue Skies for Our Children”.

1’M Blue Eco-Safe Driving Campaign is objectively designed to influence driver and fleet consciousness and behaviour on fuel efficiency and safety; generate individual and collective support for eco-safe driving; provide practical learning tools that will help create and sustain a positive behavioural change; and reduce vehicle-derived air pollutants and health impacts, fuel consumption, and CO2 emissions.

The program is a collaboration among 12 organizations. With Honda Cars Philippines are the Philippine Business for the Environment, Clean Air Asia, PAC Fleet Solutions, Honda Safety Driving Center, GMA Network, Climate Change Commission, Department of Energy, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Transportation and Communications, Metro Manila Development Authority, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
