Press Release: New Isuzu D-Max X-Series Challenges the Urban Terrain

They’re hip, young and active, and for the members of “Generation Y,” or “Millennials,” the urban jungle is as much a challenge to face as the great outdoors is. So a vehicle that suits the city life but which can also be a capable weekend getaway ride is a requirement. Enter the new Isuzu D-MAX X-Series, which perfectly matches the fun, digital lifestyle of the metropolitan set. In other words, #xseriesisforgenerationy.

Launched by Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) on August 20, 2014 at the Metrowalk Tent in Pasig City, the new X-Series variant is available for the Isuzu D-MAX LS 4x2 with both manual and automatic transmission. The Isuzu D-MAX X-Series is loaded with attractive features that definitely set it apart from any pickup model presently on offer in the Philippine market.

“Capability for capability, feature for feature, the Isuzu D-MAX is unmatched, and carries proven advantages in terms durability, reliability and fuel efficiency,” said IPC President Nobuo Izumina. “But we at Isuzu believe in continuously improving our products so that these remain relevant to our customers. That is why the new Isuzu D-MAX X-Series reflects the on-the-go, youthful attitude of the Millennial generation, whose unique fast-paced lifestyle involve constant updating and linking via social media.”

So set to go “trending” are the special features of the new Isuzu D-MAX X-Series. A stylish racing-style decal runs on its hood and tailgate, together with a red Isuzu emblem boldly inviting anyone to have that second look. Also making the D-MAX sleeker than ever are the  cargo spoiler that extends to the roof and aero skirts under the front and rear bumpers.  Sophisticated yet sporty 17” gun metallic finish alloy wheels guarantee the new Isuzu D-MAX X-Series will go “viral” in any hip venue city setting or exclusive out-of-town resort.

For the millennials, the digital world is not enough; they also crave for pursuits that match their high energy. So the new Isuzu D-MAX X-Series boasts side steps, making access into the cabin easier, and a cargo bed liner that allows the upwardly mobile to securely and stylishly accommodate active weekend gear like mountain bikes, wakeboards or camping equipment. Meanwhile, marking the special D-MAX is a prominent X-Series badge in the tailgate.

Reflecting the urbane but still rugged attitude of millennials are the special features found inside the new Isuzu D-MAX X-Series. The pickup flaunts black fabric seats highlighted by bold red contrasting trim. It also gets a matching red Isuzu badge on the steering wheel, which has control buttons to let techies surf the various functions of the premium 2-DIN audio system that integrates CD/MP3/Micro USB/Aux Input Jack/Tuner with Bluetooth connectivity. Further complementing digital lifestyles are Electroluminescent Meters with a new Multi-Information Display.

The new Isuzu D-MAX X-Series is powered by the Euro 2 4JJ1-TC 3.0-liter diesel engine. With Common Rail Direct Injection and a turbocharger that has an intercooler, it makes 146Ps @ 3,800rpm and 294Nm @ 1,400rpm to 3,400rpm. Besides providing optimum power, this engine is also fuel-efficient.

Matched to the power plant is either a 5-speed manual transmission or the advanced 5-speed automatic transmission that has a sequential shift function, which makes manual gear-shifting possible in an automatic transmission. Underneath the new Isuzu D-MAX X-Series is a superior suspension system composed of independent double wishbone with coil springs in front and semi-elliptical over-slung leaf springs in the rear. The combination allows the pickup to carry a heavy payload while at the same time having improved driving performance and vehicle stability, making it the ideal vehicle for the city-dwelling members of Generation Y who routinely head out of town on the weekends for their active recreational pursuits.

Further ensuring that the new Isuzu D-MAX X-Series appeals to the young and stylish are its signature color schemes: Silky Pearl White and Venetian Red Mica, both with decal stripes. The new Isuzu D-MAX X-Series LS 4x2 M/T is priced at P1,234,000 and the LS 4x2 A/T at P1,286,000 (add P10,000 for the Silky Pearl White color).

  1. Whaaaat? Only a 4 speed automatic? The LS is better having a 5 speed automatic. Although I like the exterior and interior styling.

  3. This D-Max, along with the Hilux, Navarra, Fortuner, Strada and all those annoying road hogging vehicles. are douchemobiles.

Usually the people who drive these vehicles are douchebags, spoiled rich kids or yung mga mahihirap na biglang yaman, kaya may pera nga, wala namang breeding.

I have lots of bad experiences with these types of vehicles. Enough experience to stereotype. The vehicle is good on its own, but with these type of drivers, good luck na lang,

  6. Para sa mga Mr anonymous. You termed "BULOK" can you please explain it further.. bulok ang style?, features?, or makina? and how can you say that it is bulok? Are you a specialist? or you just judged it by the way other people say it.. hmmmnnn! Or maybe Mr. America is promoting their own dahil sa biglang pagbagsak ng economy nila, and they need to promote their products to get back at the racetrack, sa totoo lng US cars are really amazing because lots of power thats why mostly they are called muscle cars but did you consider the fuel consumption and fuel efficiency of this cars? Dito kc sa pinas its not necessary to have these cars kasi maliliit ang kalsada natin and we have plenty traffics. To another |Mr. Anonymous who says about douchebags and walang breeding, saying these words online considers you that your the king of no breeding, kelangan mo pa bang sabihin yon? Hahaha! so it means your the nerdy type of guy na napakabait at di makabasag pinggan.....hahaha!

  7. Hindi man kasing tulin ng iba ang dmax, masmatibay at masmatipid pa din ito. kung 5 years lang palit ka na, ok na yung ranger. pero kung 10 years or more bago ka magpalit. ito ang pinaka maganda. Yung engine nya talagang built to last. timing chain ito unlike yung iba timing belt isa pa may principle kung bakit 3.0 sila pero mababa lang ang Hp at torque nito. less stress sa engine means longer engine life.kaya for me Dmax is perfect.
