2022 Chevrolet Suburban Quietly Launched. Priced At P 5.351M (w/ Specs)

After launching the Tahoe at the Manila International Auto Show, Chevrolet Philippines has quietly introduced their biggest boy, the all-new 2022 Suburban.

The all-new Suburban stretches its wheelbase by 104 mm over the Tahoe, bringing its overall length to 5,733 mm—or 33 mm longer than the already large Tahoe. Together with a new rear independent suspension, this allows for increased interior room and a lower rear floor area. In fact, touting its Super Size Me space, the Suburban comes with a power-folding third-row bench together with second-row bucket seats with power release.

Despite two variants available for the Philippine market, they both have the same engine: the 5.3-liter Ecotec V8 capable of 355 horsepower and 518 Nm of torque. This is then mated to a 10-speed automatic driving all four wheels.

The Suburban also comes with a segment first four-corner adaptive air suspension and Magnetic Ride Control. This allows it to optimize not just the ride height but stiffness as well depending on the driving conditions.

Inside, the 2022 Suburban comes with a 10.2-inch MyLink infotainment system with Bose speakers. It comes with wireless device charging which pairs well with the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For rear passengers, they’re treated to a 12.6-inch touchscreen entertainment system. Other standard amenities include 10-way power adjustable front seats, tri-zone climate control, a camera-based rear view mirror, and a power sliding center console that acts as a hidden storage drawer when Valet mode is activated.

In terms of safety, the Suburban’s taking the lead with the following as standard: adaptive cruise control, surround vision, forward collision alert, following distance indicator, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane change alert with side blind zone alert, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, and rear park assist with camera, rear pedestrian alert, and rear cross traffic alert.

Two variants of the all-new Suburban are available. The sportier Suburban Z71 4x4 AT is priced at P 5,351,888, while the more luxury-oriented Suburban High Country 4x4 AT is priced at P 7,460,888. The High Country is decked out with an exclusive Galvano grille with Godric accents, and 22-inch Sterling Silver wheels with chrome inserts.
