For those who’re familiar with Toyota history, they’d probably remember that the local market Vios took on the name Belta for its home market in Japan. A contraction of the Italian words, Bella Gente or “Beautiful People,” it enabled Toyota to expand its offering, especially in developing markets (it wasn’t such a big hit in North America or even Japan).
