Everything You Need to Know About Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6

Market leader Petron Corporation now has the cleanest and most advanced gasoline in the Philippine market that even surpasses Euro 6 standards, the most stringent fuel technology and emission benchmark in the world today.

Petron’s Blaze 100 Euro 6 was rigorously tested and certified by leading global laboratories and engine rating experts namely SGS, Millbrook Proving Ground in the United Kingdom, and ISP The Testing Institute in Germany.

Due to its pure formulation and very high octane, Blaze 100 Euro 6 gives motorists’ six advantages and benefits:
  • Improved fuel efficiency;
  • Powerful engine performance and acceleration;
  • Guaranteed cleaner engines on just one full tank;
  • Improved combustion with its unique fuel and additive formulation;
  • Significantly reduced harmful emissions; and
  • Reduced maintenance costs (e.g. Longer catalyst life for  emission system)
Tests showed Blaze 100 Euro 6 contains less than 3 ppm (parts per million) sulfur, compared to the Euro 6 standard of 10 ppm maximum. Euro 4 fuels, which is the mandated standard in the country, contains up to 50 ppm. Blaze 100 Euro 6 is available in nearly 300 Petron service stations nationwide.

The Euro 6 standard is the most stringent global emission standard.  To qualify, fuel should have significantly reduced particle numbers, particulate matter, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and hydrocarbons in vehicle emissions. Particle number (PN) is the additional criterion that separates Euro 5 and Euro 6 fuel standards. Blaze 100 Euro 6 passed the PN tests with flying colors as it was three times cleaner than the limit.

“We are proud that Blaze 100 Euro 6 meets the world’s best environmental and fuel technology standards. With the highest octane rating but the lowest sulfur content, it is the best gasoline in the market by far in terms of power, efficiency, engine protection, and reduced emissions,” Petron President & CEO Ramon S. Ang said.

Samples of Blaze 100 Euro 6 were taken from Petron’s Bataan refinery and randomly from its stations by SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing, and certification company. The samples were then sent to SGS laboratories in the United Kingdom, Singapore and the Philippines. All samples tested met specifications (EN 228:2012) for Euro 6-technology vehicles.

Petron also sent samples of this innovative product to ISP The Testing Institute – a leading engine and vehicle testing laboratory for fuels and lubricants development. ISP conducted a Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) test with Blaze 100 Euro 6 and found it did not cause carbon deposits in GDI engines. GDI is a more advanced engine technology that addresses fuel economy and emissions. It is being used in newer European, American, and Asian car models.

Millbrook Proving Ground, which provides validation and engineering services in the automotive, transport, and defense industries, also tested Blaze 100 Euro 6. It conducted an Intake Valve Deposit (IVD) test and found Blaze 100 Euro 6 cleaned over 70% of engine deposits in 60 hours. Millbrook UK said Blaze 100 Euro 6 passed the “Euro 6b” emission standard – the strictest emission standard in the world. IVD tests apply to Port Fuel Injection engines which are widely used the Philippines.

“Since our fuels are locally-produced and formulated in our refinery, we can guarantee the quality and consistency of Petron fuels,” Mr. Ang added.

“We will continue to innovate and lead in fuels technology so we can put more savings in our customers’ pockets while improving air quality across the nation,” he concluded.

What is new with Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6?

Petron Blaze 100 is the first premium plus gasoline in the Philippines with 100 octane, and the first local fuel to surpass Euro 6 fuel standards, the most stringent fuel technology and emission benchmark in the world today. This means that Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6 meets the fuel quality requirement even of high end European, American, Japanese, and Korean cars.

It was rigously tested and certified by leading global laboratories and engine rating experts: SGS Laboratory, Milbrook Proving Ground in the United Kingdom, and ISP The Testing Institute in Germany.

What is Euro 6 fuel?

Euro 6 fuel meets the fuel quality requirement of Euro 6-technology vehicles.

Euro 6 is a European emissions legislation that requires new model vehicles to meet reduced tailpipe emission limits. To meet Euro 6 emission limits, new vehicles require the installation of catalytic converters and other emission control devices. Euro 6 technology vehicles need low sulfur fuel (<10 ppm) to ensure lifetime operation of the catalytic converters since the sulfur clogs and deactivates the catalysts.

The Euro 6 standard fuels significantly reduce particle numbers, particulate matter, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and hydrocarbons in vehicle emissions. Particle number (PN) is the additional criterion that separates Euro 6 standards from other European emission standards.

How does Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6 compare to other fuels in the market?

Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6 is the first and only premium plus gasoline with 100 octane in the Philippine market. It is also the first gasoline in the country that has surpassed the most stringent specifications of Euro 6 fuel standards.

Blaze 100 Euro 6 is more than 500 percent cleaner than standard Euro 4 fuels based on sulfur content. The tests showed Blaze 100 Euro 6 contains less than 3 ppm (parts per million) sulfur, compared to the Euro 6 standard of 10 ppm maximum. Euro 4 fuels, which is the mandated standard in the country, contains up to 50 ppm.

Blaze 100 Euro 6 passed the PN tests with flying colors, three times cleaner than the limit. Particle number (PN) is the number of solid particles a vehicle can emit. Particle number (PN) is the additional criterion that separates the Euro 6 standard from other European standards.

Is Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6 environmentally-friendly?

Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6 reduces vehicle emissions due to its excellent engine cleaning action and more complete burning that maximizes engine efficiency, and is therefore friendly to the environment.

In addition, Blaze 100 Euro 6 is significantly cleaner than other fuels. It has a considerably reduced amount of sulfur (from 50 parts per million for Euro 4 fuels to less than 10 parts per million).

Due to its low sulfur content, it prolongs the life of vehicle emission control devices and catalytic converters, thus allowing vehicles to have much cleaner emissions over its operating lifetime.

Can Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6 be loaded into any gasoline vehicle? Can I mix it with other fuels?

Yes. It can be loaded into any gasoline-fed vehicle. It is especially recommended for big bikes, high-performance cars, and those equipped with emission control systems such as catalytic converters. And yes, you may still load Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6 and mix it with the existing gasoline in your car’s tank. Regular use of Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6 is highly recommended in order to maximize its full benefits. There is no need to drain your gas tank before using Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6. You can
load it into your gas tank even without draining the remaining gasoline.

If my car uses a 95/97 octane fuel, can I still use Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6?

Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6 was formulated to run on all types of gasoline engine vehicles. The car manual would specify the minimum Research Octane Number or RON requirement of the fuel. Generally, a higher RON than what is required would ensure a knock-free operation at high compression ratios resulting in more power and higher torque.

Where Can I Gas Up with Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6?
