Chery Vaults Over Competition As Philippines' Best-Selling Plug-In Hybrid Brand

United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI), the official distributor of Chery automobiles in the Philippines, is topping industry sales charts for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). Their strong performance is attributed to the all-new Tiggo rEV CD-M 7-seater PHEV SUV which recently saw the release of a new Luxury Edition (LE) variant.

The result was based on sales reports from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) reflecting sales of CAMPI and TMA member brands for the first 10 months of 2025.

To recap, for the first 10 months, electrified vehicle sales stood at 24,265 units, accounting for 6.33 percent of the industry’s sales. 19,379 units of hybrid electric vehicles had been sold as of end-October, followed by 3,941 BEVs, and 945 PHEVs.

Chery’s performance was enough to vault them to among the leaders in the overall electrified vehicles sales race among CAMPI/TMA members, next to Toyota (number one in Hybrid EV sales) and Tesla (number one in Battery EV sales).

Chery also attributes its robust sales performance to its extensive network of 25 Chery dealerships nationwide, giving the brand a strong presence in every locality as well as enhancing its aftersales ownership experience.

Priced at P 1,528,000, the Tiggo rEV LE features the Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) system that’s compatible with both Type 2 and CCS2 charging. Under the hood is a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 204 horsepower and 310Nm of torque. It’s paired with a dedicated hybrid transmission with a 1,400 kilometers of combined EV and hybrid range.

Inside, the new Tiggo rEV LE boasts a massive 15.6-inch floating infotainment display, paired with a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel. Other convenience-driven highlights include wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, Heads-up Display (HUD), ventilated front seats, remote engine start with brake pedal trigger, smart proximity key access, panoramic sunroof, and retractable flush door handles.

The Tiggo rEV LE comes with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM). It also has a 540-degree camera system with dynamic guidelines.
