Chery Auto PH Reprices Tiggo REV Plug-In Hybrid To P 1.528M

Chery Auto Philippines is the next Chinese carmaker to bring down the price of its 7-seater plug-in hybrid, only this time, they’re re-aligning the specs of an existing model to do so. Priced at P 1,528,000, the Chery Tiggo REV Luxury Edition (LE) is P 120,000 lower than the first batch of Tiggo REV C-DM SUVs introduced early this year at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).

The Tiggo REV LE is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 204 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, its Chery Super Hybrid system and 18.66-kWh offer the flexibility of plugging in (Type 2 and CCS2) for electric efficiency during everyday driving. During longer drives, it offers a 1,400-kilometer combined EV and hybrid range.

Despite its affordable pricing, the Tiggo REV LE comes loaded with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Features like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) are standard. This is on top of a 540-degree camera system with dynamic guidelines.

The Tiggo REV LE also offers a massive 15.6-inch floating infotainment display, paired with a 12-speaker Sony surround sound system. The driver, meanwhile, gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Other convenience-driven highlights include: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto, a heads-up Display (HUD), ventilated front seats, remote engine start, smart proximity key access, and a panoramic sunroof.

In fact, compared to the first batch of Tiggo REV C-DM models, the differences are minor: black instead of brown leather seating and smaller alloy wheels (18s versus 19s). All in all, not so bad considering the savings you get.

“We’re not simply introducing another hybrid, our goal is to set a new benchmark for what customers should expect in this segment. The Tiggo REV LE delivers outstanding value, advanced technology, and premium comfort at a price that challenges industry conventions,” Chery Auto Philippines Brand Head Franz Decloedt said.

The Chery Tiggo REV LE is now available at authorized Chery Auto dealerships. It’s also on display at the Chery Super Hybrid Roadshow ongoing at SM Ortigas until September 25, 2025.

    1. It's funny that people think this will only affect BYD sales. Let's see those bigger discounts jappy boys.

    2. Agree, why is everyone focusing on BYD? Mauuna babagsak ang Chevrolet, Subaru, Peugeot due to this price war. Heck even Mazda is not safe. Just look at their monthly numbers.

Market share of other brands remain same

    4. Oh really? Says who? They are all competing for the same PH consumers. People who buy these chinese cars are the same people that buys Jap/Korean cars. Have you not seen the price drop/discounts of Toyota/Honda/Mazda/Hyundai etc?

  5. Both Chery Ph and Jetour Ph are challenging BYD Ph (particularly the Sealion 6 and the Tang PHEVs).

  8. It’s not good luck to AC, but good luck to BYD owners. If poor sales AC will just drop BYD like it did with VW.

    1. owners feedback of SL6 not good, too many realibilities issues, the worst were engines suddenly stop working. But BYD EV's feedback so far OK

    2. Not heard from any of the more than 1,400 owners of SL6 in Cebu what your talking about. I'm an owner of SL6 for 1 year and almost 2 months now. No issues at all at 12,000 kms. mileage.

    3. I saw a 1 year ownership update on YouTube where they mentioned a friend had a software problem that kept their SL6 out of commission for a bit (was fixed after) but his summary was that he still recommended the car. Only place I saw that kind of issue mentioned. Given the amount of owners (at the 1+ year mark) you're likely to have heard complaints by now if may common issues pero parang wala nmn ingay.

  9. Correction sir. 1st batch is not an19 incher and without DVR. Chery should step up on their marketing strategies and make up in their false advertising issue.

    1. That's odd...their C-DM official product brochure said the launch variants had 19-inchers. Hmmmm...

    2. Not true sir Ulysses. They downgraded their MIAS model (Fulwin T8) with lots of reservations and expectations. But they brought a different unit. And now, they are telling that it comes with DVR.. I doubt. Well, i hope that they'll step up on their ads making it standard and true before going public.

  10. Chery just couldn't make a dent in the PH market despite quite competitive pricing. Must be the bitter memories of QQs and Cowins past.

  11. This is what i hate about the chinese cars in general. They change models so quickly then just drop the price of the previous model by 200k to 300k.. in just a matter of a few months. I dont know of this is good or bad.

    1. Which brand/model dropped price here by 200-300k?

I personally prefer these actual price drops. It seems more genuine compared to the near-permanent discounts that other brands are offering.

  12. Not sure BYD is worried. BYD is just an overall better car and better brand. If you’re buying Chinese, I can’t see why you’d buy anything other than BYD.

The BYD Sealion 6 ("SL6") is quite a good vehicle which is the reason our company bought one in Sept. 2024, and fortunately assigned the same to me.

It was that good that I was considering buying another 1 (after scrutinizing and test driving a Jetour X7 Lightning PHEV, and a Nevo Q05 PHEV) at my expense as my family needed another no-coding PHEV.

However, after scrutinizing the Tiggo REV LE ("TRL') for about 35 mins. each time on 3 occasions, and test driving it for about 30 mins. each time on 2 occasions, I believe the TRL is clearly the overall superior vehicle as against the SL6.

The TRL has a firmer but still compliant suspension, a Wading Depth of 450mm (SL6 <180mm), a Ground Clearance of 200mm (SL6 173mm), a 42Kw DC Charging capability (SL6 N/A) with 6.6Kw AC Charging, 3 Driver's Seat Memory w/Driver's Power Adjustable Lumbar Support, HUD, and additional ADAS safety features( Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Collision Warning), Cargo area 12V Outlet, and 2 additional Child Sized Seats.

SL6 has an APP, an NFC Card System, Dual Wireless Charging (RL only 1) Console, front 12V Power Socket, 19" Wheels/Tires, Push Button Start/Stop (which I prefer), 7 Kw AC Wall Charger (2Kw or 3.5Kw for the TRL's charger), & V2L Device.

For me the RL's additional ADAS features, better Suspension, much higher Ground Clearance, Power Adjustable Lumbar Support, 3 Driver's Seat Memory, & 42Kw DC Charging capability are significantly more important than the BYD APP, NFC Card System, 7Kw Wall Charger, and V2L device. I actually prefer the 18" Wheels/Tires. Note that i already have a 7kw (a back up 3.5Kw - 11.5 Kw Charger) Charger, and the V2L Device that came with the SL6.

Unless something better comes in by the end of December 2025, the RL will get my money.

Initially the 2026 Tang DM-I was a candidate, but was quickly eliminated as it costs P550K more than the RL. The Tang DM-I is based on the 2nd Gen. Tang EV which came out around 2018 but now using the same technology for the Power & Drivetrain it already used in late 2023 for the SL6.

TRL's P1.528M against Tang DM-I's P2.098M for what are basically similar vehicles is a no-brainer.

Of course the Tang DM-I is supposed to be more premium, and has a 0-100Kph acceleration of less than a second faster against the TRL, but I would pay no more than P200K on top of the TRL for those. Even at that it would still be a toss-up between the two.

Note that the waiting list for PMS at the dealer we bought the SL6 from was 3 weeks so they thought it best to refer us to another dealer for PMS. That PMS took more than 4 hours at the referred dealer so that cannot be considered good service.

  13. BYD Tang DMi is way more premium and modern than this model. I have seen both in the metal. The reservation for Tang at BYD Cebu North during my drive test drive last Monday already reach 20 units.

    1. AC was not good though. The 2nd row felt lukewarm even at the lowest temp and max fan speed.

    2. @ Anonymous September 25, 2025 at 2:22 PM

The Tang DMI ("TDMI" for brevity) does have a more premium & modern interior, even exterior. However it appears that the TDMI does not have the 3 Settings Diver's Seat Memory, HUD, and an adjustable  Power Driver's Seat Lumbar Support which the Tiggo REV ("TREV" for brevity) is equipped with.

Those three features which the TREV has are found in more upmarket (pricier) premium  vehicles, so those features make the TREV as premium if not more premium than the TDMI.

On the matter of the TDMI having a lot of reservations - reservations are not  sales, as many have reservations for many different cars but many also  do not push through with the purchase.

Note that in CAMPI's most recent  publication, the 2025 Electrified Vehicle Domination Report Indicates that the HYBRID sales are dominated by Toyota, the BEV sales are dominated by Tesla, and the PHEV sales are dominated by Chery.

It appears that BYD sells  9  PHEVs (variants included, latest eMAX9  2 variants excluded), while Chery only sells one which is the TREV. It then seems that the CHERY is outselling the BYD. Sales trump Reservations.

I too have seen both the TDMI & TREV in the metal, as well as have test driven both twice for more than 30 minutes each time with 4 people onboard including myself as the driver.

I found that the TDMI, just like my SEALION 6, has too soft a ride, and appears to be less responsive when accelerating on the move as against the TREV at their respective Driving Modes (eco, comfort/normal, power).

But the adjustable Driver's Seat Power Lumbar Support makes a world of a difference, more so for those that have lower back issues.

The TREV with the comfort of the Lumbar Support, the convenience of the Driver's Seat Memory, the safety of the HUD, and at about P550+K less than the TDMI should seal the deal for  most people. The 2025 Electrified Vehicle Domination Report appears to indicates such.
