Hyundai Motor Philippines made a surprise by adding a sub-P2-million variant of its Santa Fe 7-seater mid-sized SUV. Priced at P 1,998,000, it’s now a match not just against traditional pickup-based passenger vehicles (PPVs), but also offerings from China as well.

The 2026 BYD Sealion 8 Is An Opulent 3-Row SUV That's Quicker Than A Porsche Cayenne V8!
Did BYD Cars Philippines pull the trigger too quickly with the Tang DM-i? After their three-row plug-in hybrid SUV received LTO homologation (it’s even been spotted nonchalantly parked in BGC), the Chinese New Energy Vehicle brand has come up with the Sealion 8, at least for global markets.

Review: 2025 Kia Sorento Turbo Hybrid SX+ AWD
In 2022, Kia wanted you to think that the Sorento was already ready to play with the big boys of the SUV world—the arena where the likes of the Ford Explorer and Mazda CX-9 resided. Alas, its premium price point vis-Ã -vis its features didn’t really push the envelop far enough to warrant serious consideration. Fast forward to 2025, and here comes the refreshed model. Still priced within the same ballpark (it’s up around P 300,000), it gets a slew of not just aesthetic enhancements, but more importantly, higher specs and an electrified powertrain as well. With that, can the Sorento Turbo Hybrid now charm would be buyers?

2025 Kia Sorento Turbo Hybrid: Imperfect But Still Enticing
I’m on an electrified binge drive lately. After driving the BYD Shark 6 DMO, I spent time with a trio of Honda e:HEVs, and now, I’m with the Kia Sorento Turbo Hybrid AWD. The Sorento is more of a midsized crossover, but like a teenager being told by their parents on what course to take, Kia is placing this in the thick of the midsized SUV battle. Yes, they want to pit it against the likes of the Montero Sport and Fortuner. Oh, and yes, it also has to go against the CR-V e:HEV too.

The 2026 Trailseeker Is Subaru's Second EV Offering
Look Away Subaru Outback Fans, This Is What The All-New Version Looks Like For 2026
The Subaru Outback has always been quirky. In a world of boxy, lookalike mid-sized SUVs, it always had a distinctly wagon-like silhouette; something it has carried for more than 30 years. A big reason, of course, was that it was based off the Legacy. However, with Subaru putting their mid-sized sedan to pasture, what does Subaru do with their all-new, seventh-generation Outback? Give it a boxy, lookalike silhouette like everyone else.

Review: 2025 Ford Bronco Outer Banks w/ Sasquatch Package
A bit of trivia: I almost ended up working for Ford as a product planner sometime in the 2000s. Though I passed all the interviews and even got an offer, the Blue Oval’s then marketing guy decided I’d be better off continuing my career as a motoring journalist, and that’s exactly what I’ve been doing for close to 30 years now. Now, I write about cars for a living, I still can’t help but look at the presence of products and its features the way a product planner would. Does it make sense? Does it contribute to the brand’s overall image? Is it priced right?
