Mazda Philippines Debuts All-New 2027 CX-5 For P 2.495M (w/ Specs)

Mazda Philippines debuts the all-new 2027 Mazda CX-5. The third-generation model builds on its proven foundation with a more confident design, enhanced interior comfort, and greater everyday usability.

“Since Bermaz Auto Philippines took over the exclusive distributorship of Mazda in the Philippines, the CX-5 has been a core part of our line-up. Known for its distinctive design and responsive performance, it is the choice for drivers seeking a refined yet practical compact SUV,” says Steven Tan, Mazda Philippines President and CEO. “Now on its third generation, the all-new Mazda CX-5 combines a more intuitive human-machine interface with the same emotional appeal that defines the brand expressed through Jinba-Ittai driving dynamics and Kodo design, while enhancing everyday comfort through improved packaging and ride quality. It meets the demands of daily commuting while remaining versatile enough for weekend travel or family use.”

The all-new Mazda CX-5 2.5L AWD HEV Premium Plus is priced at P 2,495,000. The price includes a 3-year bumper-to-bumper warranty and a complimentary 5-year service plan, providing customers with greater peace of mind and an elevated ownership experience.

The 2027 Mazda CX-5 continues with its distinctive silhouette while introducing sleeker proportions and a bolder presence. The guiding design concept for the all-new Mazda CX-5, “Wearable Gear”, reflects how it is intended to fit naturally into different lifestyles. Like functional yet stylish clothing, the new model is urban and refined, practical, and ready for active use.

Compared to its predecessor, it is longer (+115 mm), wider (+15 mm), and taller (+30 mm). Similarly, its wheelbase has grown (+115 mm) resulting in more cabin space than ever before, particularly in the form of best-in-class second-row legroom.

A distinctive trapezoidal motif defines the boundary between the body and the lower cladding, visually reinforcing the all-new CX-5’s solidity. This element draws inspiration from kigumi, the traditional Japanese woodworking technique in which structures are precisely interlocked without nails.

Upfront, raising the nose enhances its presence while providing a more substantial front end that gives drivers a greater sense of security and a more commanding view of the road. The Signature Wing element, meanwhile, positioned between the sharp double light units, helps the front stand out. Standard are 19-inch alloy wheels with a black metallic finish. It also features gloss black lower cladding. At the rear, new linear LED taillights keep the overall look clean and modern, while bold “MAZDA” lettering replaces the traditional Mazda badge for an even greater visual impact. A hands-free power tailgate is standard.

The all-new CX-5 is available in six colors, including the new Navy Blue Mica, introduced for the first time in the Mazda line-up. Other colors are Soul Red Crystal, Rhodium White, Machine Gray, Jet Black, and Aero Gray.

Inside, the all-new Mazda CX-5 embodies the principle of Ma, a key pillar of Japanese aesthetics that prioritize space, balance, and harmony. Supporting diverse lifestyles and everyday practicality, the rear knee clearance has been increased by 64 mm and headroom by 29 mm. The rear door opening has also been expanded by 70 mm. Combined with a wider scuff plate and lowered hip point, entry and exit are more natural and effortless for occupants of all ages. The extended wheelbase also enhances cargo usability. By increasing load floor depth by approximately 45 mm, bulky items such as luggage can be stored upright, improving flexibility and making better use of the available space for daily family needs and longer journeys.

The horizontal door-to-door dashboard layout enhances the sense of width and openness. The redesigned center console improves everyday usability with repositioned cupholders and wireless charger, while longer, better-aligned armrests and refined front seats create a more stable and relaxed posture.

Japanese Sen Wood brings a warm, genuine feel of luxury, while high-contact areas are finished in black to minimize visible wear and tear. Genuine sports tan leather seats with powered front seat adjustment, with memory presets for the driver, and ventilation is standard.

New ambient lighting on the front door trims adds to this feeling of comfort with a choice of seven colors that create a calming environment. Indirect lighting enhances the sense of a private, high-quality space for passengers without distracting the driver at night. A panoramic sunroof makes the all-new CX-5 feel even more spacious and open.

The all-new CX-5 is the first model to adopt Mazda’s next-generation electrical and electronic architecture, Mazda E/E Architecture+ (EEA+). Enabled by this new architecture, Mazda carefully re-evaluated how drivers safely and naturally interact with in-car systems in everyday use.

Marking a first for Mazda, the all-new CX-5 features a 15.6-inch central touchscreen display that serves as the hub for infotainment and connectivity. The system provides seamless access to voice assistance and popular apps for music, video streaming, and news, allowing drivers to stay connected while keeping their focus on the road. The touchscreen system also replaces previously physical controls, such as climate control functions, for a more streamlined layout, while providing an enhanced overview of the vehicle’s surroundings through the 360-degree View Monitor.

The CX-5 also features an all-digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster. To further support focused driving, a head-up display is projected on the front windshield. In addition, clean, capacitive steering wheel switches integrate commonly used functions such as Mi-Drive mode selection, media controls, or the camera button for quickly checking the car’s surroundings. In addition to touch-sensitive slide gestures—for example when adjusting volume—the switches also retain familiar rocker-style press operation.

The all-new CX-5 comes standard with a Bose 12-speaker premium sound system with Perceptual Sound Rendering (PSR). Specially tuned to the all-new Mazda CX-5’s cabin acoustics, it delivers immersive, lifelike sound by angling and placing the speakers closer to ear level and optimizing bass distribution across all speakers.

In terms of safety, the all-new CX-5 introduces a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) improving safety, awareness, and comfort over a wide range of everyday driving scenarios.

Committed to the joy of driving and the Jinba Ittai feeling of oneness between car and driver, the all-new CX-5 features an updated chassis and suspension. Mazda revised the suspension setup with softer springs, adjusted the size of anti-roll bars and carefully tuned the dampers to better absorb road irregularities.

The steering feel has been refined to offer a lighter, more intuitive handling while maintaining accurate feedback from the vehicle. Likewise, the pedal response has also been optimized to allow drivers to experience swifter, more predictable feedback, and consistent acceleration without delays.

Sound-absorbing and insulating materials have been placed in key areas, to keep noise for passengers to an absolute minimum. Precisely tuning the vibration of each component allowed unwanted sounds to be minimized. The updated engine, equipped with a balancer shaft, helps reduce vibrations and low-frequency noise.

Powering the all-new CX-5 is a new 2.5-liter e-Skyactiv-G coupled with the Mazda hybrid system. This combination delivers a more efficient and responsive engine, while retaining the mechanical purity and direct feedback that characterize Mazda’s human-centric driving experience.

The engine output and torque peak at 181 horsepower and 242 Nm. More than just output, consideration has been done to deliver a more assured driving experience. Compared to the outgoing engine, it delivers peak horsepower sooner (5,000 rpm versus 6,000 rpm), while torque delivery below 4,500 rpm has been improved by up to 19 percent.

For the first time, the all-new Mazda CX-5 introduces hybrid technology, bringing greater efficiency and refinement to the driving experience. The system works seamlessly with the engine to support smoother acceleration and deceleration, helping optimize fuel efficiency while maintaining the responsive and engaging drive that Mazda is known for. It also contributes to a quieter and more refined cabin, particularly when the engine restarts after a stop.

The engine is mated to a recalibrated 6-speed automatic transmission with revised shift mapping and an updated hydraulic torque converter control. These refinements reduce shift frequency and enable smoother or crisper transitions depending on load and the driver’s preference.

“The all-new Mazda CX-5 elevates the everyday experience thanks to its advanced technology, significantly more practical SUV dimensions, and of course, the signature driving dynamics,” says Tan. “The CX-5 is an important part of Mazda with cumulative global sales reaching five million units. There is no doubt that the next-generation model will continue to do the same.”

    1. Yes, but gets DOE nod so it gets green plate and is number coding exempt.

    2. Actually better if it's a non-hybrid and the price point is less than 2m. Costs more with the PMS and insurance if you do hybrid or ev.

      Delete
    3. You make up the difference in higher cost insurance with a month's (or two max) worth of fuel savings alone vs an ICE car. The higher PMS is flat out a lie especially if you are talking about PHEV or BEVs. Lower maintenance has long been a major selling point.

If your high PMS statement centers around the cost of a battery replacement I'm willing to go over how that's not something the average owner is going to have to deal with.

    4. PMS costs for both an ICE and a hybrid vehicle are the same? What PMS do they do for an electric battery pack anyways? Can you say how much does it cost to purchase a new electric battery pack?

    5. Let's use a single brand's different cars PMS cycles for consistency; Toyota, in this case.

Most Standard Toyota Models: Every 5,000 km or 6 months
Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV): Every 10,000 km or 6 months
Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV): Every 10,000 km or 12 months (except Hilux BEV at every 10,000 km or 6 months)
Urban Cruiser (Battery by BYD): Every 20,000 km or 12 months

Sa pagka-alam ko most Chinese BEVs (and non-chinese cars using Chinese batteries) follow the 20,000 km or 12 months cycle. Some brands are even posturing a 1million km warranty, I don't know if that's a fad or baka maging industry standard yan in the future.

PMS for an electric battery pack is basically just an inspection if the wires and connections (and also the housing) are all good but honestly if they weren't you'd know very quickly. Other than that it's just checking battery health which you can do by yourself if you buy an OBD2 (On-Board Diagnostics, Generation 2).

If you buy new now it'll be an 8 year standard warranty for replacement. 8 years in the future, battery prices are projected to be less than half today's prices. LFP was $1,500 per kWh in 2010 and was $108 per kWh at end of 2025. Projections are maybe at $50-$60 by the time your warranty runs out.

Take that and multiply by the the size battery you will replace but note, and this is important, the average buyer/owner will NEVER replace their car's LFP battery. It's designed to almost outlast the lifetime of the car. The 8 year warranty replacement is there to basically catch defective batteries.

So let's say in the future you're looking at a 15 year old second/third hand PH/B/EV that's never had its battery replaced. If you check the battery health and it's higher than 70% (there's data that shows that it may be in the high 80s at that age) then your battery is fine and may last many more years at a high %. Industry recommendation is retirement/replacement below 70% but if you're cheap then you can keep going with it if you want, it's like stubbornly persisting with your dying phone. You really want to get more range with your old car? Shell out some money (it will probably not be cheap) but you're buying yourself another 20 years maybe of high range. Who knows, maybe 1000km+ batteries will available to be installed in your cheapo EV in the future.

    6. Yes, but the Coding exemption will only be good for how many more years unless they extend it.

  2. Mazda has seen the writing on the wall and decided (in this case) to survive is more important than being prestigious. It goes toe-to-toe with RAV4 LTD but with a higher quality interior. The after-sales coverage should seal the deal for most. I think some on the RAV4 waiting list will jump ship to the CX-5. Safe to say, not many people expected this to shake things up.

  3. Launching an all new 2026 model with a mild hybrid system for that price is just plain st*pidity, Mazda. You guys have failed to adapt to the changing times

    1. This is what Toyota always does. Introduce an all new vehicle but with the same engine from the previous gen. Or introduce a new engine with the current gen.

    2. Problem with Mazda is they don't have the brand equity similar to Toyota to be still patronized by consumers while doing that strategy. Though i'm not defending Toyota.

  7. 2.5M for a mild hybrid is insane. Real luxury suvs like the Lexus UX full hybrid is only 3M while the bmw x1 phev is only 3.5M. Both will heave the Mazda in the dust in terms of speed and handling.

  8. LOL! Just get a Mazda CX-60 at that price. Why is there even an all new CX-5 when the CX-60 already exists?

  15. it is 2026 and having a mild hybrid is pathetic. even your full hybr8d is borrowed tech from Toyota. wake up mazda puro jinba iitai bs or skyactive bs. sayang good looking cars but not substance

  18. Better get the new Rav4 than this mild hybrid CX-5. Overpriced.

  19. All the complains are from the casual buyers lol. You buy a Mazda for the driving dynamics and the premium feel. If you value fuel efficiency the most, this is not the brand for you. Though personally would pony up the additional 400k foe the CX-60.

    1. Casual buyers are still real buyers. This gatekeeping mindset is just silly. Let's see them drop all their investments into efficiency and see if their brand equity (driving dynamics, etc.) is all that really matters.

    2. Cx5 is DOA. Only diehard mazda fans will buy it. Logical choice in this segment is the Rav 4 only, unless you want the weird chinese crap.

      Delete
    3. It appears you dont have any money to buy a car. All u do is critique.

      Delete
  20. With that pricing Mazda will be doomed and may possibly exit the PH car industry. It is only 20th in sales in the first half of 2026 nearly at par with BMW which costs a lot more. They won't be able to support those dealership footprint with declining sales figures. .

  21. What’s the estimated fuel consumption (km per liter) of this CX5 Hybrid?

    ReplyDelete
  22. as far as i understand it, mazda's hybrid system powers up the car's electronics. reducing the load on the engine. so the engine is more focused on propelling the car. as a mazda owner, i know how demanding the car's electronics are and for me, this mild hybrid makes sense.
