Mitsubishi Motors PH Brings Back Outlander PHEV With P 2.848M Price (w/ Specs)

After a lengthy preview starting at the Philippine International Motor Show (and a dealer leak), Mitsubishi Motors Philippines finally brings back the Outlander PHEV as their flagship model and a representation of their SUV engineering expertise.

The solitary Outlander GT AWD PHEV variant, available in three colors—White Diamond, Red Diamond, and Black Diamond—is priced at P 2,848,000. However, until September 30, 2026, it comes with a special introductory price of P 2,749,000.

Ushering in a new era of electrified mobility for MMPC, the Outlander GT AWD PHEV is powered by a 2.4-liter MIVEC 4-cylinder engine and dual (front and rear) electric motors. This enables it to switch seamlessly between electric and gasoline power. It offers a combined output of 306 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, with a combined 1,000-kilometer range (100 kilometers of pure EV driving).

Unique to the Outlander GT AWD PHEV, the driver can select multiple EV drive modes including Normal, Save (locks in the current battery charge level), Charge (runs the gas engine to charge the battery), and EV Priority. Charging is done via AC Type 2.

The dual electric motor setup also allows the Outlander GT AWD PHEV to unlock the brand’s renowned Super All-Wheel Drive (S-AWC) system. This brings together the Twin-Motor 4WD, Active Yaw Control (AYC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Active Stability Control (ASC), and Traction Control System (TCS) to intelligently optimize traction, stability, and handling.

Complementing the S-AWC are seven selectable drive modes, grouped according to driver preference and road conditions. Normal, Eco, and Power modes allow drivers to tailor the vehicle's performance to suit everyday driver style, maximizing efficiency and responsiveness. Meanwhile, Tarmac, Gravel, Snow, and Mud modes optimize power delivery and traction control based on varying road surfaces, helping the vehicle maintain composure and capability to tackle challenging off-road terrains.

The Outlander GT AWD PHEV features wide proportions, muscular stance, and a sculpted body. Upfront, it has the Dynamic Shield design concept accentuated by full LED lighting. It also features 20-inch two-tone alloy wheels as standard.

Inside, the Outlander GT AWD PHEV comes with light gray leather trimmed seats and soft-touch paneling for a sophisticated look and feel. The airy feeling is elevated by the panoramic sunroof creating a lounge-like ambience for everyone on board.

The cabin also features a 12.3-inch Smartphone-Link Display Audio (SDA) with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, paired to an immersive 8-speaker Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium audio system. It’s also equipped with a Smart Rear View Mirror (camera-based rearview mirror) as well as a Heads-up Display, tri-zone climate control with rear vents, and an 8-way power adjustable front seats with memory, heating, and ventilation.

Advanced safety is likewise reinforced with the Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing (MMSS) suite, which includes Forward Collision Mitigation, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic High Beam, and Driver Attention Alert— providing greater peace of mind for both driver and passengers.

  1. That introductory price will very likely carry on past September 30 for sure. What were they even thinking? This is just a mid spec version from overseas (no brown interior, no 12 speaker Yamaha system, no massage seats, etc), not even the top of the line model. Even its efficiency and range are weak conpared to the Chinese PHEVs. Its only redeeming feature is AWD.

    1. I honestly thought they managed to bring here the top of the line model overseas when I saw the price, then I read the actual specs.

  2. The Mitsubishi Elevance concept is basically the preview or the concept version of the next generation Outlander. It will move to a completely new in-house developed platform (abandoning the CMF-CD alliance platform) and have a much more efficient powertrain with an all-new gasoline ICE dedicated for hybrid use instead of the ancient and inefficient 4B11 used in this model. It will likely launch overseas before 2029.

This generation of Outlander, marketed as "new" in the Philippines, was launched overseas in 2021, which was 5 years ago already. No wonder their long-standing 2nd place market share is being overtaken by BYD. PH is getting near-end of lifecycle models again, just like the X-trail and Sportage.

  3. Skimmed through online searches, this model might be the same as the ones sold the US and Canada

  4. Great. I've by Mitsubishi even if it's an older model. Good thing is it's made in Japan and the first Japanese PHEV in the country.

  8. Need to bring it to below P2M price.

  9. Is it just me? Outlander recycled some from X-Trail’s parts bin for its interior.

    1. Mitsubishi and Nissan are under the same umbrella already. That is why new global Mitsubishi vehicles (Outlander, Triton) have Nissan parts bin (particularly the newer global models like X-trail, Patrol, Qashqai, all-new global Kicks P16, etc) interior stuff from gauges, remote, buttons, indicator/wiper stalks, head units, and a lot more.

  10. based on the pictures from the Launch. This uses gb/t port. not the Philippine standard CCS/2 port.
Article said it uses AC type 2 (CCS/2) charging.
    hope you can clarify this

    1. Type 2 for AC, CHAdeMO for DC. The CHAdeMO part isn't that advertised because it isn't the accepted standard here.

  11. No adaptive cruise?

  12. AWD, yes. P2.848M (even at less P150K cash discount), no way!
