People Maketh Sucess: Toyota Earned The Filipinos' Trust And That Shows

Toyota Motor Philippines celebrated 38 years of the Filipinos’ earned trust at Toyota Legacy Experience at the Eton City Square. The three-day event drew a diverse crowd, united by one thing: their love for Toyota.

“For me, owning a Land Cruiser is not just about possessing a vehicle; it is an inseparable part of my identity and a living testament to my family’s history. Since the day I was born, a Land Cruiser has always been present in our household. I grew up witnessing my father drive the iconic 40 Series, which eventually paved the way for other legendary models in our garage, including the LC 70 FRP, the BJ44, the 80 Series, and other models. The Land Cruiser has played the biggest role in my life. It represents reliability, resilience, and a legacy passed down from my father. Today, it defines my lifestyle, allowing me to serve others through charitable work with the Land Cruiser Club of the Philippines and providing critical aid during calamities where ‘roads are not required.’ Owning a Land Cruiser means carrying forward a tradition of strength, capability, and purpose,” said Gerald Lim, head of the Land Cruiser Club of the Philippines.

Since its founding in 1988, Toyota Motor Philippines has resonated greatly with Filipino buyers. In 1994, it achieved its first-ever “Triple Crown” capturing the top spot in Passenger Car, Commercial Vehicle, and Overall sales volume. With its 24th consecutive Triple Crown captured in 2025, the carmaker continuously caters to the customers’ evolving needs through a diversified product line-up and services beyond vehicle ownership all anchored on developing genuine and meaningful relationships. It is this same relationship that has helped cultivate the local Toyota community.

“The quintessential Toyota owner is always willing to lend a helping hand to a fellow car enthusiast. True Toyota enthusiasts have no prejudice, and we welcome and respect everyone who shares their passion,” said Robert Tan of Grupo Toyota.

It’s a sentiment shared by both Francis Edward Ayala of the FJ Cruiser Owners Philippines and Hilux Club Philippines core member JC Diaz.

“Our community allows owners to connect with others who share the same passion. Beyond the vehicles themselves, we build friendships, share knowledge, organize activities, and help one another get the most out of ownership,” said Ayala.

“I joined because of my love for the Hilux, but I stayed because of the people and the friendships we built through the years,” remarked Diaz.

Meanwhile, Hilux Club Philippines head Twyford Ong also reflected how the organization has evolved into a tight-knit community. “We don’t just go on trail drives. We also organize outreach activities, help communities, and support one another. What keeps me going is seeing members build friendships, bring their families along, and use their Hiluxes to make a positive difference.”

Across many generations, Toyota has earned the trust of Filipinos through its vehicles and services, backed by the brand’s pillars of quality, durability, and reliability. From family sedans and hardworking pickups to legendary SUVs, the brand has become part of countless milestones, adventures, and everyday journeys showcasing its mission of providing mobility for all.

Today, Toyota recognizes that its long-standing heritage is built by the people who dedicate their time, effort, and love to their cars.

Alongside the local car clubs, the carmaker has embraced aftermarket shops who also displayed their modified Toyota vehicles. These aftermarket shops help enthusiasts maintain, restore, and personalize their vehicles, preserving Toyota’s heritage for future generations.

From families who pass down their Toyotas across generations to clubs that foster lifelong friendships, to collectors who preserve automotive heritage, to aftermarket shops that enrich the ownership experience, each person plays a role in keeping Toyota’s legacy alive.

As Toyota continues to evolve through new technologies and mobility solutions, its greatest strength remains the community behind the brand. Together, these owners, clubs, collectors, and shops ensure Toyota’s legacy and heritage continues through the people who drive, preserve, and celebrate it.
