The achievement marks a significant milestone in the company’s transformation from a domestic Chinese manufacturer into one of the world’s fastest growing automotive groups. Today, Chery International-manufactured vehicles are sold in more than 130 countries and regions, supported by an expanding worldwide manufacturing, research and development, and retailer network.

The 20-millionth vehicle to leave the production line was the new Chery Fulwin A9, a long-range intelligent electric sedan. The milestone carries particular significance for Chery as the original Fulwin was the company’s first production model and among its earliest vehicles to be exported to international markets.

Founded in 1997, Chery International has played a leading role in the development of China’s automotive industry. It became the first Chinese automotive brand to surpass one million cumulative vehicle sales in 2007 and has since continued to expand its footprint. The group has also ranked as China’s largest passenger vehicle exporter for 23 consecutive years.

During the first half of 2026, Chery International exported 943,800 vehicles worldwide, representing year-on-year growth of 71.5 percent. The company also achieved four consecutive monthly export records, with one Chery International-built vehicle shipped overseas every 17 seconds.

The company’s global growth is also reflected in its expanding international workforce, with the company now employing 150,000 people worldwide, including more than 20,000 staff based outside its home market. Beyond its direct employees, Chery International’s reach also supports millions of additional jobs across its worldwide supply chain, reflecting the scale of its economic impact as it continues to grow into new markets around the world.
