Lexus Philippines has quietly updated its all-electric midsize SUV, the RZ, with three new variants including one that’s being positioned as the longest-range EV that Toyota and Lexus currently offers in the country.
Replacing the RZ 300e and RZ 450e in the Lexus line-up are the RZ 350e and RZ 500e.
Across all variants, the RZ features an upgraded the lithium-ion battery pack. Now with 77 kWh (71.4 kWh usable), it helps boost its range anywhere between 450 kilometers to 575 kilometers (WLTP standard). A new battery pre-conditioning function is standard to improves its DC charging times, while AC charging performance has also been improved through the adoption of a 22 kW from the previous 11 kW.
Priced at P 4,438,000, the RZ 350e Core comes with a single front-mounted electric motor (1XM) that drives the front wheels (224 horsepower and 269 Nm). The same powertrain found in the ES 350e, it gives the RZ a 0 to 100 km/h time of 7.5 seconds.
Meanwhile, the P 5,428,000 RZ 500e Luxury doubles the number of permanent magnet synchronous motors helping reach a combined output of 380 horsepower (227 horsepower and 269 Nm per axle). 0 to 100 km/h drops to just 4.6 seconds.
There is a solitary P 7,998,000 RZ 600e F Sport Performance that further uprates the outputs to 425 horsepower in addition to a unique Interactive Manual Drive also provides simulated gear shifts and engine sounds. This version, Lexus confirms is not for retail sale, but has been added to the company’s collection.
All 2027 Lexus RZs benefit from better quietness thanks to added sound deadening and the use of a new high-damping adhesive in the floor. Even the tonneau cover now comes with an additional soundproofing felt layer.
The upgraded motor and battery pack aside, the 2027 RZ remains more or less the same as before save for puddle lamps integrated in the door handles, a digital rearview mirror, and rear seat reminder system.
The RZ 350e still rides on 20-inch alloy wheels with a two-tone black and bright finish. Inside, it has dual zone climate control with Lexus Climate Concierge, power adjustment for the front seats with ventilation and heating, seat memory presets for the driver, a 14-inch infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a 10-speaker system.
The RZ 500e adds Ultrasuede seat upholstery, memory presets even for the front passenger, a heads-up display, a dimming panoramic glass roof and a Mark Levinson Premium Surround system.
Although not for retail sale, the RZ 600e F Sport Performance gets all sorts of handling improvements. As the first all-electric F Sport model, Lexus pulled out all the stops to make for “confidence inspiring performance.” The tweaked suspension is 200 mm lower than standard and adds large brake rotors with six-piston calipers, and 21-inch Enkei alloy wheels.
It also has a two-tier carbon wing—one on the roof and another on the rear trailing edge as well as plenty more carbon bits including turning vanes (front and back), hood bulge, roof, and headlamp bezels, as well as enlarged arch moldings and more aggressive side skirts. Inside, it receives new sport bucket seats covered in Ultrasuede with blue contrast stitching. The same Ultrasuede material is found on the doors, while blue accents also appear on the instrument panel and dial-type shifter.
