MG is banking on electrification as its main driver here in the Philippines. If you didn’t notice, they launched four new energy vehicles so far just in the first half of 2026. There’s the PHEVs in the G50, HS, and RX9, while the MG4 Urban EV is their newest entry-level battery-electric vehicle.

After previewing it last July, MG Philippines has officially launched its latest all-electric SUV, the MG S5 EV. Priced at P 1,448,888 (P 1,408,888 introductory), it’ll go against the likes of the GAC Aion V (P 1,498,000), BYD Atto 3 (P 1,638,000) and Dongfeng Vigo EV (P 1,458,000).

Xpeng believes “AI Mobility” will be their biggest differentiation when they launch in the Philippines this September. While the arrival of Chinese brands has made electrified vehicles with impressive range and equipment more commonplace in the country, Xpeng says this isn’t enough. To compete against established brands as well as other Chinese models, they believe it’s all about bringing something genuinely different and that is AI Mobility.
