Remember that Special Service Campaign affecting 3,416 Toyota vehicles? Well, apparently, the issue affects 1,172 Lexus vehicles too.
Select units of the LM luxury MPV as well as the LS 500 / 500h ultra-luxury sedan are affected.
Like the issue plaguing Toyota models, Lexus has found out that a programming error, will cause the system to repeated save unnecessary data onto the gauge cluster’s memory. After a while, this will cause the memory to deplete sooner. If this happens, the screen may not turn on when starting the vehicle and remain off. Driving without a visible speedometer or warning lights may increase the risk of an accident in certain situations.
Lexus says that reprogramming the software, or worse, the digital gauge cluster may have to be replaced. The revised software and replacement parts aren’t available yet, but are expected to be ready by October 2025 at the earliest.
Once repair parts are available, involved customers with vehicles included in the service campaign are highly encouraged to immediately set an appointment with Lexus Manila or authorized Toyota service centers that can service Lexus vehicles to perform the necessary repair and prevent problems from occurring.
Customers may also schedule the repair during the Periodic Maintenance appointment if the vehicle is already due or approaching its regular maintenance schedule.
The following Lexus models are affected:
- Lexus LM – 1,148 units (Production date: July 25, 2023 to April 18, 2025)
- Lexus LS – 24 units (October 16, 2023 to October 3, 2024)
