Tesla ends its first year in the Philippines with a lion’s share of the battery electric vehicle (BEV) market. As of the latest CAMPI-TMA sales data, Tesla has managed to corner a 54 percent BEV market share. More than 2,200 units of the Model 3 and Model Y have been delivered to Filipino customers.
Further capping their commercial success, Tesla also managed to set new benchmarks in terms of energy efficiency at the 2025 Department of Energy (DOE) Fuel Economy Run. The Tesla Model 3 (rear-wheel drive) is the country’s most energy efficient vehicle with an outstanding 92.31 km/Lge rating. Read our full review. The Tesla Model Y (rear-wheel drive) wasn’t too far behind with an 84.63 km/Lge rating.
By comparison, other BEVs that participated in the DOE Fuel Economy Run managed just 37.04 km/Lge (Nissan Kicks e-Power), 71.03 km/Lge (MG 4 Lux), 55.66 km/Lge (Lexus RZ 450e), 71.71 km/Lge (Lynk & Co 02). In fact, the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y are the most energy efficient vehicles in the country, beating out every other ICE, hybrid, or plug-in hybrid model that participated.
The Department of Energy has adopted the km/Lge standard which measures consumption on a “kilometers per liter of gas equivalent.” While gas-powered vehicles have a 1 L to 1 Lge equivalent, diesel-fed vehicles, have a 1L diesel to 1.077 Lge conversion. Meanwhile, electric vehicles will have a 1 Lge to 8.89 kWh conversion.
Efficiency aside, Tesla is committed to providing a seamless and convenient charging experience with a growing network of dedicated charging stations. As of this month, Tesla is operating three Supercharging stations with 12 Superchargers and six Destination Charging stations with 24 Destination Chargers in the Philippines. With the lowest EV charging rates in the market, Tesla makes electric vehicle ownership both convenient and cost-efficient.
To further accelerate EV adoption and achieve sustainable abundance, Tesla has introduced various programs to make EV ownership more accessible and rewarding:
- Refer and Earn Program, which encourages owners to advocate for sustainable mobility. Owners can earn up to P 6,500 credits through each successful referral; while new owners can get P 13,000 incentives for their new Tesla by using a valid referral link from an existing owner.
- Complimentary Insurance for the Model Y is available until December 31, 2025. while stock lasts. This limited 1-year comprehensive insurance offer comes as a big saving making it the best time to purchase Tesla’s best-selling electric SUV.
- Exclusive privileges for Tesla owners via the Tesla Owners Club.

Tesla miles better and prestigous than byd
ReplyDeleteThey're different. Tesla is considered as a premium vehicle automaker whereas BYD is a mass market vehicle automaker.
DeleteI thought china cars have the best technology? Apparently they have the best on paper but in real world not so much
ReplyDeleteWhile in places like Australia Tesla is down by almost a third of last year's sales while the china cars you're talking about are going up by a lot 😅
DeleteTechnology? I would say features, yes more features coz they build like a mobile phone, reliable? that's the question.
DeleteWhat do you mean? I believe China cars are good but definitely not the best.
DeleteSo do I care?
ReplyDeleteThen dont read and go.. simple as that
DeleteI haven't seen it mentioned in any of these comment sections before but Tesla's resale value in many markets like the US and Europe drops very quickly which is curious since many Filipinos are concerned with resale value.
ReplyDeleteResale value of all BEVs drop like an anchor. If that's what you care about, you're shopping for the wrong car.
DeleteWhich is why it will be interesting to see how Tesla will be doing in a few years. People are comparing Teslas to iPhones but they behave (sell for) very differently in the used market.
DeleteNothing beats a Tesla!
ReplyDeleteChina cars have a cost to buy advantage, but the total package, Tesla has got the best deal overall. FSD is amazing if you can get it here.
ReplyDeleteFilipinos believe Tesla is like the Apple/Mac of EVs that's why its first year of sales are high.
ReplyDeleteTesla Model 3 and Model Y are made in China that's why its affordable.
Tesla = iphone, byd = oppo
DeleteTesla = iphone, byd = oppo, pinoy = morse code
DeletePinoy = never say die smoke belching jeepneys😅😅😅
DeleteBrand equity matters in all purchases. China still working on their brand recognition and status while Tesla is a pioneer mass EV producer that the Chinese took inspiration from. China is a "fast follower" that copies and improves products quickly. One of the reasons they get less respect from the market
ReplyDeleteBecause of how fast they improve, there comes a point when you've copied all you can that you can improve that you have to start to make things yourself.
DeleteAs a result, the number of international patents from Chinese manufacturers are only increasing.
Too fast that they forgot to copy the quality🤫🤫🤫
DeleteChina copies then improves. Although some of these improvements are not necessary it is just there to over spec the car in paper. Hopefully they focus on real world efficiency because that what matters not the number of cameras and other whatnot.
