Isuzu Global Service Corporation Marks 10th Anniversary

Isuzu Global Service Corporation (IGSC), one of the training and technical human resource development arms of Isuzu Motors Ltd. (IML) in the Philippines, celebrates its 10th founding anniversary. Established in 2015 in Bacoor, Cavite, IGSC was created with a clear and critical mission: to strengthen Isuzu’s global service operations by developing highly skilled, technically capable, and globally competitive service mechanics specializing in Isuzu commercial vehicles.

Over the past decade, IGSC has grown into a leading institution that provides advanced and specialized training programs designed by S-Class Isuzu engineers—programs that directly support both Philippine and global Isuzu dealer operations. According to the IGSC Mission statement, the organization develops Filipino engineers “who have mastered Isuzu’s unique skills and will contribute to a variety of manufacturer service operations,” utilizing English as their global advantage.

The creation of IGSC is deeply rooted in Isuzu’s long-standing advocacy of education and empowerment through the Isuzu Heart and Smile Project (IHSP) in Tacloban. Graduates of IHSP who wish to pursue a deeper specialization in truck servicing are given the opportunity to apply to IGSC’s highly structured and selective program. Applicants undergo a multi-stage evaluation consisting of written examinations, interviews, and hands-on technical assessments. Those who successfully qualify are offered a comprehensive three-year employment and training engagement with IGSC.

The first seven months focus on intensive in-house technical training, covering the full breadth of Isuzu product knowledge, diagnostics, electrical systems, chassis and engine servicing, and advanced truck maintenance—following IGSC’s structured curriculum of more than 60 training modules and over 1,000 total training hours. After completing the in-house program, trainees move into a two-year deployment to IGSC partner companies, where they serve as service mechanics or service trainers and gain real-world experience essential to their professional growth. Their final three months focus on Nihongo language training, preparing them for possible overseas employment, particularly in Isuzu dealerships in Japan.

Now celebrating its 10th year, IGSC has successfully produced more than 120 trained mechanics deployed to various Isuzu distribution networks around the world, including Japan, Dubai, and several key markets in Africa. IGSC’s company records highlight a strong and growing list of placements across both domestic and international operations, including Isuzu Motors Metropolitan Area, MSTC (Isuzu Motors Service Training Center in Japan), Isuzu International FZE (IIF) in Dubai, and various Isuzu dealerships throughout the Philippines. These deployments form part of IGSC’s expanding role not only in mechanic production but also in training, new model preparation, service manual development, dealer consulting and the provision of technical support services to elevate service standards within the ASEAN region and beyond.

Reflecting on IGSC’s 10th anniversary, President Fumihiro Ishii emphasized that IGSC’s success has always been rooted in its people — their dedication, passion, and commitment to serving with excellence. He shared, “For the past decade, IGSC has grown because we never stopped believing in the power and potential of people. Our mechanics, trainers, and partners embody the Isuzu Spirit — reliable, dedicated, and always striving to grow. Through these initiatives, IGSC remains a testament to Isuzu’s belief in Filipino potential and its long-term commitment to human resource development as a cornerstone of Isuzu’s global success. As we enter our next decade, we will continue developing future leaders, empowering more Filipino talent, and strengthening IGSC as a bridge between countries, generations, and aspirations.”

For many IHSP graduates, IGSC represents a transformative opportunity. Through continuous study, practical deployment and rigorous skill development, trainees achieve a competitive advantage that enhances their employability and career trajectory. With specialized expertise in Isuzu truck servicing and exposure to international work environments, many graduates secure higher earning potential and access global career pathways. Mr. Ishii emphasized this impact, noting, “Our commitment goes beyond training — we invest in the dreams and futures of our IHSP scholars. IGSC will continue to support them as they work toward becoming globally recognized Isuzu service mechanics and trainers. Their success is our greatest achievement.”

As IGSC enters its next decade, the organization is poised to strengthen its human resource development initiatives even further. Plans include enhancing overseas secondment programs, expanding technical and consulting support to global markets, developing more advanced training content for emerging Isuzu technologies, and continuing to produce highly skilled service personnel who play a vital role in the growth of Isuzu’s global service network. Through its work, IGSC stands as a testament to Isuzu’s belief in Filipino talent and its commitment to advancing skills development as a core pillar of Isuzu’s global strategy.
