Mini, distributed in the Philippines by the Autohub Group, introduces the first-ever Aceman—a new all-electric small crossover that may be small on the outside, but big on the inside.
Positioned between the Cooper and the Countryman, the Aceman is decidedly compact with an overall length of just 4.07 meters (1.75 meters in width and 1.5 meters in height). Yet, thanks to its clever use of space, it has comfortable seating for five.
Available in the Favoured trim, the Aceman’s two-box design comes with standard roof rails and 19-inch Hexagram Spoke two-tone alloy wheels as well as underride protection for the front, side, and rear. The Vibrant Silver colored grille has been interpreted with a hexagonal shape and made to extend to the front underride protection. The angular LED headlights feature switchable modes for its DRLs, expressing its individual character. At the side, the Aceman takes on a minimalist look down to its flat integrated door handles. At the back, the upright rear lights bear distinctive graphics along with the underride protection element.
The all-electric Aceman is powered by a single motor with 217 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque. This enables a 7.1-second 0-100 km/h time and a top speed of 170 km/h. The high-voltage battery onboard has a usable energy content of 54.2-kWh, giving it 407-kilometer range. And typical of Mini, it comes with the Mini Experience Modes that allows for a customized driving experience.
Inside, it’s all about purity in design all integrating Mini’s three key classic elements—the easy-to-handle steering wheel, the large central display, and the toggle bar. The circular OLED center display measures 240 mm and contains both driving-related and infotainment controls. Meanwhile, the toggle bar contains the most important driving functions (including the gear shifter) all accessible via the individually designed toggle switches.
As the Favoured trim, the all-electric Aceman, comes, ironically in a color scheme called Dark Petrol. It also has orange graduated accents on the passenger side, while the door cards are finished in easy-to-care recycled polyester. The John Cooper Works front sport seats themselves are finished in perforated Vescin. Features include ambient lighting, free-standing door handles, and speaker covers finished in Vibrant Silver.
Despite its small stature, the Aceman features generous seating for three at the back and a luggage compartment that grows from 300 liters with the seats up to 1,005 liters with the 60/40 split-folding bench folded down.
In terms of safety, the Aceman comes with Driving Assistant with steering and lane assistant. It also has 12 ultrasonic sensors and four surround view cameras helping it automatically park into any space unassisted. The Mini Digital Key Plus replaces the traditional key in unlock/locking the Aceman.
The first-ever Mini Aceman is now available for viewing Mini Global City, Mini Alabang Town Center, Mini Pampanga, and Mini Cebu. Prices start at P 3,550,000.
Good job, Mini.
