MINI Adds Cooper 5DR To Line-Up For P 3.799M

After launching the Mini Cooper 3-door last September, exclusive Philippine distributor, Autohub Group brings the newest iteration of the more practical body style: the Mini Cooper 5-door.

Priced at P 3,799,000 or P 100,000 more than the Cooper 3-door, the Mini Cooper 5-door is 172 mm longer with its wheelbase stretched by 72 mm. Yet, at 4,036 mm in length, 1,744 mm in width, and 1,464 mm in height, it’s nearly identical to the model it replaces.

Like the Cooper 3-door, the Cooper 5-door carries the iconic Mini round headlights along with the octagonal front grille. Available in the Favoured trim, it has the grille and other select elements finished in Vibrant Silver, while its wheels are in an 18-inch two-tone slide spoke design.

The Cooper 5-door features a heads-up display placed ahead of the compact steering wheel. Everything else, however, is displayed on the circular 240 mm OLED display powered by the Mini Operating System 9. Besides its minimalist look, Mini continues to play with textures and colors creating a two-color motif out of recycled polyester. Even the ambient lighting can be changed and personalized.

And because the Cooper 5-door is designed to be the more “practical” version, not only can it accommodate three people in the backseat, but its 60/40 split-folding seats can grow the cargo hold from 275 liters to 925 liters.

Powering the Cooper 5-door is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 204 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque. The sole gearbox is a 7-speed dual clutch automatic. Despite sharing its powertrain with the Cooper 3-door, engineers optimized the 5-door’s suspension to take on the extra size.

The new Mini Cooper 5-door is now available for viewing at Mini Bonifacio Global City, Mini Alabang Town Center, Mini Pampanga, and Mini Cebu.

  3. British cars are famous for being priced 3x to 4x more expensive than similar models yet are notorious for being unreliable if most of the reviews are accurate. This one looks comical yet is priced astronomical.

    3. Mazda's CX-90 is for North America and the Mini by BMW is for Europe, that's how the world works anyway.
