Review: 2024 Nissan GT-R Premium
The Nissan GT-R (R35) was a performance car icon as soon as it launched in 2007. Carrying the torch of the Skyline GT-Rs everyone knew so well from Gran Turismo, it offered true supercar pace at a bargain price. Fast forward 17 years later, its pace isn’t quite so shocking anymore, and its price, at P 12.445-million, is no longer a bargain. Still, for all its old-fashioned brutality and tech, it’ll be remembered as a showcase of what a crack team of Japanese engineers could do. It’s a legend and deservingly so.

In a stroke of genius, Nissan rid the fourth-generation Almera of its ugly-as-sin styling and added a dose of sportiness to transform this forgettable sub-compact sedan into one of our segment favorites. We loved it so much that we named it one of our Top 5 Picks in 2021. Fast-forward to today and we have the updated Almera. Now, I don’t know about you, but I feel like with this update, it’s managed to both take a step forward and a step back.

Review: 2022 Nissan Kicks e-POWER VL
Among small SUVs, the Nissan Kicks has caught the attention of people for one thing: its all-electric powertrain. Initially, there’s been some confusion on the role of the on-board combustion engine (we’ll get to that later), but the fact of the matter is, it’s the only one in its class to be powered solely by an AC synchronous motor. As such, there’s no denying that it delivers a great drive. However, at the same time, it’s saddled by a package that’s simply run-of-the-mill everywhere else.

Review: 2023 Nissan Livina 1.5 VL
Basically, there are two reasons why automakers would design and build a car. Either they’re doing it for the sheer passion of it, or because they see it as a way to improve their bottom line. More often than not, a car exists somewhere between these two extremes. For Nissan, this could very well be almost their entire line-up from the Almera to the Patrol. In rare occasions, you get something born out of pure passion like the GT-R, the Z, and depending on who you ask, the LEAF. Now, for every so-called “passion project” there’s one whose sole mission is to improve their bottom line, and that’s where the all-new Nissan Livina comes in.
