Bibimdrive: A North Trip with the Kia EV9, Carnival HEV, Sorento HEV, and Sonet
More is indeed merrier for this recent Kia trip I had. The usual 1 car in focus was off the table and instead they had us drive 4 of their cars to the far north. It was a good mix between different powertrains that I can’t help but compare it to one of my go-to Korean dishes.

3 Things That Make The Changan Nevo Hunter K50 A Threat To The Status Quo
Rain is said to be the great equalizer in racing. For us in the motoring beat, it’s the great hassle. Changan prepared a good drive for us towards Quezon with the Q05 SUV, Hunter pickup, and a preview of the A05 sedan. The rain hampered our activities and so I was limited to the Hunter pickup.

The Porsche 911 Turbo S Is The Supreme All-Rounder
If there’s one car that’s been resistant to change, stubborn even, it’s the Porsche 911. Throughout its more than 60-year history, its basic formula hasn’t changed. Throughout the generations, it’s a careful evolution of the same basic formula—the engine is mounted at the back and power being sent to the ground (typically) through the rear wheels. However, every so often, the formula is tweaked a bit more be through the introduction of all-wheel drive, turbocharging, and the water-cooled engine. With the latest 992.2 generation, electrification can now be added into the formula. Read on to read our impressions, or watch our drive.

Mazda Fan Festa Is About Creating Magic On And Off The Race Track
Any car brand can put on a spectacular show, draw a crowd of thousands, and have priceless memorabilia on display. The truth is, any brand with the right budget and ample manpower can pull off a grandstanding event. This is where Mazda shows what it means to integrate a brand’s value into every event detail in a way that offers a memorable and unique experience for everyone.

BYD Has A Whole Deck Under Their Sleeves
When I was assigned to cover BYD in China, I thought maybe they still had an ace or two in their sleeve. They took us on a small tour of their headquarters in Shenzhen, their new Di Space Museum, and their recently opened All-Terrain Circuit in Zhengzhou over five days. As we walked through different rooms, looked at several walls, and rode many cars, I realized BYD doesn’t have just an ace but a whole deck under their sleeve.

BYD's History Is A Life Lesson To Behold
I really don’t want to go back to China. Their cities have thick smog even at 7 AM, I always end up coughing despite the visually clean surroundings, and the food is bland. Yet there I was for five days last week with BYD. I was curious how this brand came to be, more than anything else, which is why I said yes to this trip.

From Horseless To Hybrids: MG Remains At The Forefront Of Innovation
Unbeknownst to them, a matchup between two steam-powered carriages over an eight mile-route in Manchester, England would result in the first-ever race. Who won that race in 1867 doesn’t matter, but what does is that it cemented the United Kingdom as the birthplace of racing and motorsport. For as long as people have been building cars, they’ve been racing them too. This need for speed, you could say, is human nature and it’s the one that drives carmakers to make ever faster cars.

The Next-Generation Toyota Tamaraw Embodies The Filipino Spirit Of Adventure
“Adventurer” would not be the first word that comes to mind when you think of the Toyota Tamaraw. A more fitting description would be a utility transport vehicle or colloquially, “the FX.” Because for the longest time, the name of the Tamaraw has been known for being one of the most reliable, go-to vehicles when it came to functional transportation. Period.

Trust The Car Bro: Driving The Audi Q8 e-Tron From Manila To Baguio (And Back) On A Single Charge
I’ve already driven the Audi Q8 e-tron before; only it was more on fun driving than anything else. I didn’t bother putting it to its limit range-wise, because that would mean I can’t enjoy its 408 horses and 664 Nm of pull. I just treated it like I would my phone: charge it when you have time so that you always have a good amount of range buffer. What I consumed for the day, I made up for by charging it at night.

Leaving No One Behind: Inclusion Is Front And Center At The Paris 2024 Games
Here’s a little-known fact: while Paris has hosted three Olympics, 2024 marked the first time the city hosted a Paralympic Games. As experienced in previous host cities, the Games is often seen as an accelerant in improving the accessibility of people with disabilities. And with a promise of hosting a “Games Wide Open,” Paris put that promise front and center.

Driving the Nürburgring Nordschleife Is An N-thusiast’s Dream Come True
I just crossed one off my bucket list. Just when I thought cruising on Highway 1 in the United States and ploughing through the sand dunes in the Sahara Desert couldn’t be topped, I did this: hot laps on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. And mind you, I wasn’t here on the invitation by some German brand, no; I’m here thanks to, of all car companies, Hyundai. Wait, what?

Going Higher Than Clouds With The Isuzu D-MAX And Overland Kings
I have no penchant for traveling. My family wasn’t well-off enough to have that kind of hobby. The farthest we got was Batangas simply because that’s my mom’s home province. My only sources of traveling were field trips in school, college projects, and now my work.

Inside Porsche's Secret Garage In Kallenberg
Tucked amongst a row of nondescript warehouses lies the greatest facility to Porsche-philes: Porsche’s secret garage. Located somewhere in Kallenberg, this warehouse is where Porsche keeps over 700 iconic vehicles, unique machines, and race cars if they’re not on display at the Porsche Museum just a few kilometers away. Here’s the thing: unlike the Museum which grants entry for around 15 euros, this one isn’t open to the public.
