Toyota Motor Philippines School of Technology (TMP Tech), a premiere automotive technical-vocational institution, held its 14th commencement exercise for 231 graduates from its Automotive Servicing General Job, Automotive Body Panel Repairing, and Automotive Body Painting courses at Toyota Motor Philippines’ (TMP) industrial complex in Santa Rosa City, Laguna.
With the addition of the new graduates, the institution has produced a total of 2,792 graduates from its regular and specialized training programs since 2014.
Starting its operations in 2013, TMP Tech was founded by Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) Honorary Chairman Dr. Shoichiro Toyota and TMP Founding Chairman Dr. George S.K. Ty to become a world-class technical and vocational institution that develops Filipino youth to become highly competent automotive professionals for the local and international Toyota dealer network.
Since then, TMP Tech has been serving Japan’s automotive after-sales service workforce, making it the newest training-to-employment program that provides opportunities in the global Toyota Network.
TMP Tech’s advanced and fast-track curriculum equipped its graduates through Toyota-specific courses and training at an actual Toyota dealer locally.
Graduates also have the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) national certifications, which make their skills equivalent to Pro-Technician level of the globally known Toyota Education Automotive Mastery for the 21st century (TEAM21) training program.
TMP Tech sees the potential for Filipino talents in the international arena as demand for highly skilled automotive technicians remain high globally. To date, over 200 TMP Tech graduates have been employed overseas, including those who completed the training programs for global Toyota partners in Japan, the State of Qatar, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
