Honda Reveals All-New 2026 Prelude's Design Concept

Honda has confirmed that the all-new Prelude is making its global debut this September. Ahead of time, the carmaker has released preliminary information, particularly surrounding its “grand concept.” This comes after Honda revealed some tidbits surrounding its suspension and brakes.

The 2026 Prelude embodies Honda’s sporty mindset and as such, it inherits the nameplate’s “joy of maneuvering” in the era of electrification.

Designed under the concept of “Unlimited Glide,” the Prelude exudes the feeling of “making you want to go anywhere in extraordinary excitement.” Honda says it’s based on the idea of a glider that can fly freely in the sky.

The Prelude’s proportions are meant to convey “universal functional beauty” with its low and sharp front nose as well as the smooth and sleek body line that creates a glider-like exhilaration. Meanwhile, the low and wide stance evokes dynamic driving. Other glider-inspired styling can be found in the headlights, flush door handles, smooth body panels, and the black chrome plating on the front grille.

The interior is also designed to give a sense of exhilaration of gliding for its driver and front passenger. The main color of the interior, “blue × white”, expresses the concept of Prelude with a light white and deep blue coordination. The instrument panel is made with detailed intricacies such as an ivory skin that gives a sense of warmth like Japanese paper and embroidery with the Prelude logo that enhances the joy of owning it.

Moreover, the driver’s seat and the passenger seat have different specifications, the driver’s seat is a seat with increased hold suitable for sports driving, while the passenger seat provides a moderately wrapped comfort. Low stance with clear horizontal visibility, a D-shaped design steering wheel, and a full-graphic meter exclusive to Prelude raise expectations for driving.

On the other hand, the tailgate-type luggage compartment with a wide opening makes it easy to put in and take out luggage, the rear seat folding mechanism that can load various luggage, the storage space under the floor board, and hooks for hanging shopping bags, making the Prelude a highly practical car.

  5. Weird headlights design choice and an even weirder interior which looks like a mismash of a civic and old acura parts. They could have given this an exclusive interior design/layout that is sporty and isnt found on their other vehicles.
