The 2026 Subaru Uncharted Could Bring In A Credible 343 Horsepower

While other carmakers are starting to get wary with their all-electric ambitions, Subaru is on a BEV roll. After unveiling a significantly updated Solterra and the Trailseeker, they’re quickly adding a third all-electric SUV to their line-up: the Uncharted.

Now, before you ask, it’s not named after the PlayStation adventure game. And yes, it’ll probably be based on an existing Toyota BEV.

Officially, Subaru hasn’t mentioned any details surrounding the Uncharted save for it being a “compact crossover SUV.”

However, if Subaru’s BEV history lends credence, the Uncharted will probably use Toyota underpinnings the same way the Solterra is a Toyota bZ4X and the Trailseeker is a Toyota bZ Woodland/bZ4X Touring. The Uncharted? It will likely be a rebadged C-HR+.

When blown up, the teaser photo seems to back that up as the Uncharted has the same coupe-like design as the C-HR+. It also appears to have the same upward kink at the base of the rear windows as the Toyota.

If the Uncharted uses the same battery and motor as the C-HR+ (which it probably will), it’ll be offered with either a 57.7-kWh or 77-kWh battery; the bigger option helping it go up to 600 kilometers on a single charge. Being a Subaru, all-wheel drive’s a given so that points to the 343 horsepower (252 kW) dual motor which gives a 0 to 100 km/h time of 5.2 seconds.

For sure, it’ll adopt Tesla’s NACS in North America, but it’ll likely use a CCS Type 2 charger elsewhere. It can charge up to 22-kW on AC (when properly speced) and up to 150 kW on a DC charger.

The 2026 Subaru Uncharted will make its global debut on July 17.
