P 1.198M Dongfeng E70 Pro Is An EV Sedan Made For Private And Fleet Use

Legado Motors, the official distributor of Dongfeng vehicles in the Philippines launches its first-ever fully-electric sedan: the E70 Pro. And in a unique twist, they’re not marketing it solely to private individuals, but to fleet accounts, taxis, and TNVS services as well.

Positioning it as part of their mission to promote clean, sustainable, and efficient mobility solutions in the country, the Dongfeng E70 Pro offers an impressive range of 420 kilometers on a single charge. It also offers a spacious cabin with comfortable seating and a smooth driving experience that’s inherent in all-electric vehicles. Features include 17-inch alloy wheels, a fully-digital gauge cluster, touchscreen infotainment system, and even an electronic parking brake.

The E70 Pro is powered by a 55.99-kWh ternary lithium-ion battery that drives a permanent magnet synchronous motor offering 161 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque.

What’s more, unlike some of its competition, the E70 Pro is a globally-tested and proven vehicle. Its battery system has undergone and passed a series of rigorous safety and durability tests, including the fire test, water immersion test, extrusion test, and heat dissipation test, ensuring safety and peace of mind. This is on top of dual SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, tire pressure monitors, rear parking sensors, and a reverse camera. Furthermore, the E70 Pro has already earned its reputation as one of the most trusted electric taxis in both China and South America.

From an economic standpoint, the E70 Pro offers significant cost savings compared to traditional combustion engine and even plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.

With current fuel prices, drivers can save up to P 47 for every 6 to 7 km drive, which means that over 100,000 kilometers, savings can reach P 783,349! Additionally, with lower maintenance requirements, the estimated upkeep over five years is pegged at just P 35,000. And priced at an accessible P 1,198,000, it even comes with a wall box charger. Truly, it redefines “value” in the EV segment.

The event also introduced TaxiKo EV, a ride-hailing concept based on the E70 Pro platform. It’s a glimpse of what may be the future of on-demand transportation in the Philippines. By the end of the launch, 65 vehicle reservations were made on the spot, with units delivered to some customers the same day.

“Today, we are not just unveiling a new electric vehicle,” said Mr. Brennan Nathan Singson Lim, Deputy CEO of Legado Motors, during his opening remarks. “We are opening the doors to a smarter, greener, and more sustainable way of moving forward. The E70 Pro is our contribution to building a future where Filipino cities breathe cleaner air and Filipinos are empowered by reliable, and intelligent mobility.”
