Leading up to its global launch on July 10, Hyundai has outlined some of the unique innovations they’ve engineered for the Ioniq 6 N to give it track-focused capabilities.
For starters, Hyundai N engineers capitalized on the regular Ioniq 6’s low ride height to give it a fully-redesigned suspension geometry with a lowered roll center and enlarged caster trail for improved on-center feel, steering feedback, and self-centering behavior. It also has new electronically-controlled sensing (ECS) dampers. Overall, it should have even more dynamic capabilities over the Ioniq 5 N (read or watch our review).
Building on the Ioniq 5 N’s N e-shift and N Active Sound+, the Ioniq 6 N now makes its innovative e-shift technology available in every drive mode. This is on top of the ‘N Ambient Shift Light’, which visually indicates the precise shift points using the interior ambient lighting.
For those who want to go sideways, the Ioniq 6 N features an enhanced N Drift Optimizer where drivers can now fine-tune drift functionality with a broader range of customization options.
Hyundai has also confirmed that the Ioniq 6 N will sport flared fenders, a wider stance, lightweight wheels, and a motorsports-inspired swan-neck rear spoiler. All in all, it will give their high-performance sedan better high-speed stability and dynamic capability.
The Ioniq 6 N will make its global and public debut at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 10.
“The Ioniq 6 N has been developed to provide the most engaging driving experience possible in an EV,” said Joon Park, Vice President and Head of N Management Group. “Hyundai N will once again disrupt the EV segment, not with headline grabbing numbers, but by demonstrating how fun an electric car driving experience can be.”
