Hyundai Philippines Sales Cool in April, Q1 2018


Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines showed bearish sales in the first four months of 2018. By the end of April, the brand posted a conservative 11,076 units sold or a 2.5 dip from previous year sales of 11,362 units. In April 2018 alone, sales slowed down by 7.0 percent, to 2,345 as compared to the 2,521 units sold the same period in 2017.

Hyundai Philippines Sales Slow Due to Effects of TRAIN


Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines, has registered 2,649 unit sales for the month of February 2018. This leaves the total 2018 year-to-date Hyundai unit sales at 5,552, or a modest 1.5 percent increase compared to the 5,470 units sold during the same period of 2017.

Hyundai Philippines Marks Modest January 2018 Growth


Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. The Korean brand’s performance can be considered quite a feat considering it is the initial month since automotive taxes have been restructured (Note: Hyundai has not yet implemented TRAIN at this point. A few days ago, several media outlets including The Philippine STAR reported that The House Committee on Ways and Means has just approved the tax reform package proposed by the Department of Finance. Included in this tax reform package is a revision to the current new vehicle excise tax which car buyers have been enjoying for the good part of a decade.
