Ford Updates Focus with New Look, Features for 2015

Ford has used, of all things, the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain to debut a refreshed Focus that’s expected to debut in markets including the Philippines as a 2015 model. Headlining the changes of course, is the debut of Ford’s new design language—something already seen in the refreshed Fiesta and EcoSport models.

At a glance, the new Focus features a restyled hood and grille that echoes the lines of the Fiesta. The rest of the front elements such as the headlamps and fog lamps have been changed as well to give the Focus a cleaner look. At the back, the Focus also gets new tail lamp clusters and a restyled trunk lid (for the sedan). Inside, the Focus gets a much more modern interior with satin-chrome detailing, and new switchgear including steering wheel. In addition, the 2015 Focus also gets a new center console with adjustable cup holders and even a redesigned glove box.

Under the hood, Ford has announced the availability of the award-winning 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine for the Focus. Though no power figures were mentioned, it’s expected to at least net 126 horepower—figures similar to that of the Fiesta EcoBoost. The North American version will only get a manual gearbox with the EcoBoost engine but likely the Philippine version will pair this engine with Ford’s PowerShift dual clutch automatic.

    1. The European release date is late 2014. Expect ours to arrive (at the earliest) by first-quarter 2015. Probably a Bangkok Motor Show reveal and then release by mid-year.

  2. Mr. Ulysses Ang,

Off topic, I just want to ask, when will the new 2014 Ford Mustang be available for the public and the price for the 2.0eco if none at the moment a price range will do. I hope you can help me about this thanks.

  4. Does this variant still have the many problems reported on powershift transmission dual clutch, the noise heard inside the cabin, etc?
