The Honda Jazz MUGEN is Here

Last September, Honda Cars Philippines gave us the privilege to drive its concept Jazz 1.5 VX+ MUGEN edition with the caveat that it will be launching the official car in the third quarter of 2014 with a retail price that’s ‘to be announced’. Well, after all the speculation, here it is: the 2014 Honda Jazz MUGEN and it’s all yours for P 908,000.

Now, before you start scratching your heads as to how Honda priced it so low (the range-topping VX+ CVT tops out at P 958,000), the Honda Jazz MUGEN isn’t based off the range-topping model anymore. Instead, it’s based off the base 1.5 V M/T variant. This effectively means a bump of P 130,000 from the 1.5 V’s P 778,000 price tag. The Jazz 1.5 V MUGEN may seem expensive at P 908,000 but you do get factory-installed MUGEN accessories including a revised front grille, tail gate spoiler, 17-inch MUGEN alloy wheels with wheel nut and lock set, and a matching MUGEN emblem. For those keeping score, you lose the concept version’s front and rear MUGEN bumpers (hence the more affordable price bump).

Given not everyone’s willing to pay P 130,000 for a body kit and wheels, Honda is keeping the Jazz 1.5 V MUGEN as a limited edition model. It’s only making 30 of them, available only in Tafetta White or Rallye Red.

If you already own a 2014 Honda Jazz, you’ll be happy to know that they’re also offering the MUGEN accessories package separately and can be installed in any variant of the all-new Jazz.
