Is The Refreshed 2024 Kia Sorento Philippine Bound?

Kia unveiled the exterior design of its refreshed Sorento mid-sized SUV ahead of its launch in the middle of August.

The change in design reflects the new design philosophy, Opposites United. Among the pillars, they chose the tenet of Bold for Nature. This helps the new Sorento project a strong, future-oriented design and an interior that’s based on advanced technology.

The new design has a redone grille with a three-dimensional pattern and a Star Map lighting system which made its debut on the Kia EV9. A revised hood with emphasis on volume gives the effect of size, while the bumpers are refreshed for a more confident look. New alloy wheels, a new rear bumper, and connected rear combination lamps complete the new look.

Inside, the new Sorento gains a panoramic curved display with a next-generation infotainment system called ccNC, new climate control switches (which shares the same bank of physical controls as the infotainment system), and a fingerprint authentication system that can be used to start the engine or make microtransactions.

Kia has also confirmed that the new Sorento will be made available in a variety of powertrains—gasoline and diesel in 4WD and hybrid in 2WD guises will be sold first.

For its part, Kia Philippines has confirmed that four vehicles—two electrified vehicles and two internal combustion engines will head to showrooms by the end of 2024. One of these vehicles could be the new Sorento.

  1. For sure Kia PH will release this with crippled features (especially on ADAS) and a midrange engine for their own local TOTL variant just like what they did with earlier releases.

Or, they'll bring all the features at a significantly marked-up pricing cloder to Mazdas we have.

  2. It should be. The 2nd-gen Sorento used to be famous and selling more copies than the 3rd and current 4th-gen. Don't know what happened to their sales.

  3. Kia PH should fully adopt Kia India's aggressive strategy of offering several line ups with plenty of variants if they want to boost their sales. I've never seen a sorento on the road

    2. Never gonna happen. They already made their roadmaps clear, and that is to move upmarket (like the Mazdas) hence this and the EV6.
Add to that is the discontinuation of Soluto and Stonic production in China (which we source our cars of the same names.)

So it'll remain a pipe dream.

  4. Ayala overpriced the Sorento more than Columbian cars ovepriced strategy. Sorento's should have pricing between 1.5 to 2M only.

    1. 1.5M to 2M is for Sportage.
Sorento is mostly north of 2M
