Here Are The Prices, Full Specs Of The 2024 Chevrolet Trax

Chevrolet may be officially launching the new-generation 2024 Trax compact crossover tomorrow, but we happened to get the full specs and prices just a day before its official launch. You can scroll down if you want to head straight to the nitty-gritty, but read on if you want the summarized version.

The all-new Trax isn’t the same sub-compact or mini SUV as the first-generation model was. This one is 51 mm wider and a full 279 mm longer than before. This gives it a similar footprint and interior room as the Trailblazer compact SUV.

With that, the Trax isn’t cheap. In fact, it’s positioned above both the Tracker and the Trailblazer price and spec-wise. For the Philippines, Chevrolet has previously revealed that it will come in three flavors. The prices are as follows:
  • Trax 1.2 LT – P 1,793,888
  • Trax 1.2 Redline – P 1,866,888
  • Trax 1.2 RS – P 1,948,888
Regardless of variant, the Trax receives the new globally designed front fascia with the high-eye DRLs (in LEDs) and LED headlights. The LT starts off with 17-inch wheels going up to 18’s on the Redline and the RS. The Trax RS also benefits from a two-tone roof motif and a sunroof.

As for colors, the Trax comes in 10 colors:
  • Black Meet Kettle Metallic
  • Retrograde Metallic
  • Summit White
  • Ziggy Solid
  • Sharkskin Metallic
  • Blue Glow Metallic
  • Jinx Metallic
  • Cacti Green
  • Tigerlily Metallic
  • Tripp Metallic
Underneath, the Trax rides on the GM VSS-F / 9B unibody architecture. This solid foundation uses front MacPherson Struts and a Torsion Beam axle at the back. Chevrolet also purposely dropped the overall height not only giving it its unique appearance, but also lowering its center of gravity as well. Yet, ground clearance is at a good 186 mm.

Powering the Trax is Chevrolet’s 1.2-liter E-Turbo Prime engine. Combining direct injection with variable valve timing, it pushes out pretty good numbers: 137 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 220 Nm from 2,500 to 4,000 rpm. This helps it achieve a rather spritely 0 to 100 km/h figure (around 8.5 seconds), while boosting fuel economy. A 6-speed torque converter automatic is the sole gearbox.

Inside, the Trax gets a car-like cabin with a low cowl and low seating position. The expansive dashboard has a jet-fighter look and feel, backed up an 8-inch digital gauge cluster (Redline and RS) and a 11-inch touchscreen infotainment system (Redline and RS) with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Redline and RS receives an 8-way power adjust driver’s seat, leather upholstery, and a power tailgate. They’re differentiated in color though with the Redline getting a white/black number, while the RS having an all-black one with red accents. The RS is also the only one to benefit from a flat-bottomed steering wheel and wireless device charging.

Regardless of variant, Chevrolet is proud of the Trax’s newfound interior room, particularly in the back seat. Moreover, the trunk space is much larger—accommodating up to 1,450 liters with the rear seats folded down.

Finally, when it comes to safety, the Trax comes fully kitted. Not only does it come with a full set of airbags, ABS with EBD, and vehicle stability control, but it also has Chevrolet’s Advanced Driver Assistance system. The ADAS system, which uses a monocular camera setup, gives standard forward collision alert, following distance indicator, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, enhanced front pedestrian detection, and vehicle forward movement detection among others.

All Trax units will be sourced from the Chevrolet assembly plant in South Korea. They come with a standard 5-year / 100,000-kilometer warranty as standard.

  1. Whit that pricing, my prediction is this will get heavily discounted due to low sales and after a few years will eventually get discontinued.

  3. Standard AWD would have justified the exorbitant price tag but alas, the Trax/Seeker is FWD-only everywhere. Good luck, TCCI.

  4. Sits above the Trailblazer as expected but a starting price of 1.7 million for a crossover of this size and you only get a monochrome MID, 4 speakers, and manual seats for the base?? And most of all, a 3-cylinder engine only across all variants at this price range??? What kind of drugs is TCCCI taking in pricing their vehicles?! If they think that this will save them from the loss of MG in their distributorship portfolio, they are downright delusional! If anything, this will accelerate the demise of Chevy in the country lmao. How I wish GM Philippines would return to better manage this brand with genuinely decent cars. This car could have been an integral part in saving Chevrolet and TCCCI's business but, at these prices, we can safely say that TCCCI is the new HARI in terms of management.

  5. This new Chevy Trax nameplate is faded even before reaching the Bowtie showroom.TCCi the local Chevrolet distributor is rediculous. How come a underpowered Gas engine, lowtech features and a compact small crossover can be priced at 1.7M????

  6. I've never seen an old generation Trax on EDSA or any road in the Philippines for that matter. Maybe this one will sell better, who knows? But a starting price of 1.7M is quite steep given other options at the price point (more expensive than a Corolla Cross Hybrid).
