2024 Chevrolet Trax To Come In 3 Variants For PH Market

Chevrolet Philippines is bringing in another global crossover in the form of the all-new Trax. Teased previously through social media posts, its Philippine distributor, The Covenant Car Company, Inc. (TCCCI) has just revealed more details.

The all-new Trax is much larger than its predecessor; so much so that they’re now classifying it as a compact crossover and not a sub-compact. Dimensionally, it’s 279 mm longer and 51 mm wider than the previous model. Cargo space goes up to 1,405 liters with the rear seats down—up 12 percent from before.

The five-seater Trax is confirmed to come in three variants: the LT, Redline, and RS. All units will be sourced from South Korea.

No price has been revealed yet, but reports say the Trax RS tops out at P 1,948,888. This puts it above the Tracker and Trailblazer in Chevrolet Philippines’ renewed line-up.

The 2024 Trax has a more athletic look thanks to the newest Chevrolet global design language. It has refined body contours and swept-back lines to emphasize a wide, muscular physique. LED lighting is standard across all variants, while unique designs between the three variants perfectly accentuate its overall character.

Powering the Trax is GM’s new-generation 1.2-liter E-Turbo GM Prime 3-cylinder engine. Based on global models, this powerplant is good for 137 horsepower and 219 Nm. Power is then routed to the front wheels via the proven Gen III 6-speed automatic transmission.

Inside, the Trax is styled with a low cowl for emphasized width and better outward visibility. It also adds a sense of roominess. At the centerpiece is a floating infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Trax LT gets an 8-inch screen, while the Trax Redline and Trax RS grows it to 11 inches. The Trax Redline and Trax RS also get an 8-inch full digital instrumentation.

Other standard creature comfort features include an electronic parking brake with auto hold, smart key passive entry with push-button start-stop, rear AC vents and USB ports, and a reverse camera. The Trax Redline, meanwhile gets a flat-bottomed steering wheel and an 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, while the Trax RS adds a wireless charger and sunroof.

As a global Chevrolet model, a wide array of cutting-edge safety and advanced driver assistance systems also come standard on all the Trax variants.

The new-generation Chevrolet Trax will make its digital premiere on July 4 at 6 PM at Chevrolet Philippines’ Facebook page.

Watch out also for our first impressions real soon.

  1. TOTL at 1.9 million are they kidding?! I had low expectations for the Trax's pricing but RS at that price tag, you can already buy an Innova Zenix with hybrid and 7 seats! TCCCI badly needs a hit with MG being transferred to the mothership but with this, it looks like they want to kill themselves. TCCCI definitely are high right now.

    1. Flabbergasted that mainstream subcompact CUVs like the new Trax and the Crosstrek are kissing P2M! At least the Subie has standard AWD.

    2. Between a 1.2L Trax and a 2.0L Crosstek/XV, I'll go for Subaru for 1.998M.

  2. If this 1.9M price Tag is true, it will trash the Chevy Trax reputation of this Local Distributor . Unbelievably non-sense marketing campaign. Don't understand why Chevy phil is keep on launching models that don't sell in our market? Because it's very expensive and it just for show in the idle dealers. Wake up Covenant people.

    1. If they brought in Duramax (diesel) Silverado, they’d sell more of those than overpriced Tracker. Point is, if GM can’t make Asian cars and sell to Asians at Asian prices, they shouldn’t damage the Chevrolet brand. Sell what they are known for and leave the premium market to the premium players.

  3. price from the report is pretty specific so the final pricing shouldn't be that far off. Geez and I thought the TOTL HRV is way wayyy expensive already

It's scary to think how subcompact crossovers/SUV are already nearing 2m :/

    1. That is actually the real price of the Trax RS which is already being displayed at some Chevrolet dealerships. No confirmation on the price of the Redline and LT though. My hunch would be P 1,788,888 for the Redline and 1,588,888 for the LT.

    2. Someone posted the Redline's price already. It's P 1,793,888--so I wasn't far off that one.

    4. Actually I agree with you on that one. Similar driving dynamics but Trax has better ergonomics overall. Bigger too.
