BMW is finally completing its Sport Activity Vehicle (SAV) line with the introduction of the first-ever X7. The largest of BMW’s SUV line-up, it’s the “bid daddy” with comfortable seating for 7. Yet, they say it will retain all the off-road prowess, excellent ride comfort, and agile on-road handling that all SAVs are known for.

The SUV-fication of BMW continues as the German automaker pulls the wraps off the Concept X7 iPerformance. The closest indication of BMW’s upcoming production flagship SUV that slots above the X5, the BMW calls it “a whole new take on luxury.” You can also call it fugly.

BMW has officially announced another addition to its growing SAV (Sport Activity Vehicle) line-up with the confirmation of the X7. Although no details were given, it was done to coincide with BMW’s additional investment to expand its Spartanburg plant in South Carolina, USA. In total, BMW will invest a total of one billion (yes, that’s with a ‘B’) US dollars by 2016. This increases their annual capacity by 50 percent to 450,000 vehicles from 300,000.
