Drive Like a Champ with the Volkswagen Polo

Fresh from the launch of the Polo WRC Drive Like a Champion campaign at Volkswagen dealerships in Bonifacio Global City, Quezon Avenue, Alabang and Cebu last June 12 (Independence Day) and on Father’s Day (June 21), Volkswagen Philippines continues this one-of-a-kind dealership experience with the Polo Fest for the entire month of June at all dealerships.

At the Polo Fest, visitors will get to see up close all variants of the globally successful Polo sedan (automatic and manual transmissions) and hatchback, including the specially designed WRC-inspired Polo that follows the winning look of the 2013 and 2014 WRC Champion Polo R Hatch. At the Polo Fest, visitors also receive deals and services that would make them feel like champs: special financing offers for buyers and refreshments for visitors.

The Polo brand, acclaimed the world over, is a prize catch in and by itself. It’s the perfect vehicle for young professionals and car lovers. Launched for the first time in 1975, the Polo became one of Volkswagen’s most successful cars. Today, the Polo is produced in Germany, Spain, South Africa, Russia, India and China.

The fifth-generation Polo Hatchback, embodied Volkswagen Philippines’ exciting opening salvo for 2015 when it was launched in February. Few compact cars offer more of that premium European image than the Polo Hatchback, what with nifty touches that highlight that trendy, sporty look: halogen headlamps with range adjustment, front and rear fog lamps, chrome-accent front grille, and 15-inch “Riverside” alloy wheels.

And it has the power to back up that image, courtesy of a 1.6-liter, Euro4 emission standard compliant multi-point injection gasoline engine managed by a 6-speed automatic transmission that delivers a maximum output of 105 horsepower at 5,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 153 Nm at 3,750 rpm.

Volkswagen also spared no expense in the safety and security features of the Polo Hatchback: Anti-lock brake system, anti-theft with immobilizer and interior monitoring system, crash-safe body design, front and rear seatbelts, SRS dual front airbags and park distance control, to mention just a few. ISOFIX-ready rear seats have likewise been installed.

Amidst the popularity of the Polo Sedan in manual transmission, the automatic variant of the Polo Sedan was introduced during this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) as Volkswagen Philippines’ response to the strong public clamor for an AT version.

Euro 4 compliant like its diesel-powered MT sibling, the new Polo Sedan’s powerplant is a 1.6-liter gasoline engine that generates 105 horsepower and 153 Nm of torque, offering the driver and passengers an easy-to-drive day-in, day-out ride they’ll never get tired of. The new Polo Sedan’s build quality and finish, typical of uncompromising Volkswagen standards, is complemented by spacious and comfortable interiors with plenty of legroom.

Introduced in the Philippines in 2014, the Polo Sedan in manual transmission has created a loyal following among those who prefer both quality and driving pleasure. Powered by the 1.6-liter Common Rail Turbo Direct Injection diesel engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission that delivers a maximum output of 105 horsepower at 4400 rpm and maximum torque of 250 Nm at 1,500-2,500 rpm to the front wheels, the Polo Sedan is the no-nonsense choice of motoring enthusiasts who demand power and performance at the palm of their hands, and in a clean and thrifty Euro 4 package.

All these premium features integrated into Volkswagen’s brand of world-class automotive engineering only means that whatever Polo you choose, you’ll surely drive out of the Volkswagen dealership a winner.

Visit your nearest Volkswagen dealership now for inquiries and for test drives, and avail of the special deals for the three Polo variants good only up to June 30, 2015! The Polo Hatchback retails for P950,000; the Polo Sedan MT is priced at P 950,000; and, the Polo Sedan AT goes for P 932,000.

  1. I think VW Philippines should offer the Polo GTI locally to help create a sporting image for the Polo.

Then make the Golf R available as a statement that VW Philippines is really serious in capturing the hearts (and wallets) of car enthusiasts just like what Subaru did they relaunched the brand not so long ago. Golf GTI would have been great 5 years ago but these days, there are better options.
