All-New 2022 Toyota Avanza Launching On March 7, Prices To Start At P 813,000

With the continuous rise of the local demand for Commercial Vehicles (CVs) particularly versatile carriers for family use, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is once again set to reinvigorate the market with a full update of one of its most popular compact Multi-Purpose Vehicles (MPVs): the Toyota Avanza.

Last refreshed in 2019, the 2022 all-new iteration of the Avanza will be officially unveiled to the public on March 7 via an online launch program on Toyota Motor Philippines social media channels. It was launched globally last November.

Meanwhile, all of Toyota’s authorized dealerships across the country will start accepting inquiries and reservations of the all-new Avanza as early as March 1.

“Our mobility requirements are rapidly evolving, especially after the disruptions caused by the pandemic, but one thing remains constant - Filipinos will always need a reliable car that can offer ample, comfortable space for the family, including extended family members,” said Sherwin Chualim, TMP’s First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations. “This has always been the strength of the Avanza, but for this 2022 release, expect even more value-for-money features on top of its striking style upgrades inside and out.”

TMP has been bullish in introducing compact cars in the CV segment that will be attractive to customers looking for a reliable, efficient, plus easy and fun to drive rides. The 2022 Avanza joins the recently launched all-new Toyota Raize in this group of products designed under a new global architecture platform.

The Philippine-spec Toyota Avanza will be available in four grades and five colors, with retail price starting at P 813,000.

  1. TMP is relentless! The new Avanza, hopefully w better ride comfort, is more suitable than the Raize for a family of five (I saw the Raize last weekend in a dealership, and it is really suitable only for a maximum of four persons).

    1. A family of 5 Adults maybe. But but if you only have 3 kids in the back, Raize is fine.

  2. agreed, raize is good but appeals more for single millenials or a second car or the car you want to give your children on their 18th birthday, avanza appeals to those looking for a 7 seater but on a budget, hope TMP wont overpriced this (doesnt look like it tho) like corolla cross and rav4

    1. Agree. TMP, no more overpricing.
The Corolla Cross G should have at least a P100K discount. At its current price (P1.3 M), it's so near the Innova E pricing (P1.35 M). With the discount, then maybe more buyers will consider the Cross G.

    2. I doubt anyone has been cross-shopping the Corolla Cross with the Innova. Those vehicles just have different types of buyers. Personally, I think the Corolla Cross G just needs more kit for the price.

    3. Agree. I'd love to see a Corolla Cross 1.8V (no hybrid) to sandwich the 1.8G and 1.8 HEV. I think that would be better than a GR Sport variant.

    4. There's a 1.8V gas Corolla Cross in Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar, all LHD models and probably sourced from Thailand

    5. I definitely will have second thoughts of buying the Corolla Cross G (w these bare specs) if I can have the much larger Innova by just adding around 50K.

  3. And how about the Veloz? It will be launched here alongside with Avanza?

    1. Based on that teaser photo that Toyota PH sent? Likely, no. Seems the Avanza will arrive first then Veloz sometime later.

    2. It means the Avanza and Veloz will be launched separately?

    3. If they were to follow the current Avanza's launch, then yes. Let's see though. They did mention 4 grades though--that could mean there's space for the Veloz (J, E, G, Veloz).

    4. Or the Veloz might get 2 Grades though...

  4. Will a jacked-up version of this become the next Rush? Or is the Veloz meant to be that successor?

  5. Another re-badged Daihatsu. Seems like Toyota will use Daihatsu or the DNGA platform for sub-1m prices... Toyota with its traditional core products - Corolla, Rav4, Camry, has really gone upmarket already. Even in the US, prices has gone up from 14,000 USD base Toyota products to 21,000 USD. Vios, Wigo, Raize, Avanza, Rush replacement in the sub 1M market will be rebadged Daihatsu / DNGA products.
